Old Titan
Savvy move: two open practices this week at TU, which generated a front-page story in Tulsa World, and will get fans thinking/talking/planning for basketball a month before tip-off. Shouldn't every college program (hint, hint) do this sort of thing?
Dr. Cornelius
It definitely wouldn't hurt. TU does have several friendly writers on the Tulsa World staff (no matter how much they complain)... does ORU even have one?
theeagleman5
ORU fans don't attend the games....why would they go to a practice???....

TU does have several friendly writers on the Tulsa World staff (no matter how much they complain)... does ORU even have one? In the new world of print journalism, newspaper staffs are skeletal. Kelly Hines is the TU beat writer for football and basketball. Bill Haisten is a columnist who used to have TU and OSU as his beat; now he just writes about who he wants, when he wants, including TU (whose fans consider him negatively biased). It appears that "stringer" Ben Johnson will again have the ORU beat for basketball, a position he apparently loathes. His daytime gig is at Blue Cross Blue Shield; in addition to ORU hoops he covers high school sports, which he seems to much prefer. Eric Bailey, the OU football beat guy, also covers college baseball and ORU in the spring.

Don't you want me to go, so I can come back here and rain on the parade?
