Coach Mills on Burns
"Deondre is an experienced guard who will help immensely in providing leadership and playmaking abilities to our backcourt.  He was one of the top shooters in the country during his sophomore season at UALR.  This past season he transitioned to a point guard and is phenomenal in ball screen decision making.  He will be one of the more athletic players we have had and has great size and speed for a guard.  I am excited that Dre will be part of our 2019-20 season."

Even if it is for one year, it is really nice to pick up a combo guard with significant D-1 experience.  He is definitely insurance if some of our other point guards options do not work out.

He could even earn a starting PG spot depending on how things go.  A few years back we had a 4 year home and home agreement with UALR, but the Damen Bell Holter game winning 3/4 court shot coupled with snagging one of their key contributors might decrease the odds of playing them in the near future, unless those games are already on the books.

And officially announced:

Oral Roberts officially announced the addition of Ty Lazenby to the roster Thursday. The former Glencoe standout is joining the Golden Eagles as a graduate transfer from the University of Oklahoma.

At Glencoe, Lazenby won three Class A state championships before signing with Northern Oklahoma College in Enid, where he averaged 22.9 points and 4.7 rebounds per game during the 2016-17 season.

The 6-foot-5 guard is the second addition in as many days for the Golden Eagles, who announced Deondre Burns’ transfer from Little Rock.
