ORUalum
Murray St jumps on McMinn in the second for 4 runs.....field and new scoreboard look good.
ORU82
Unimpressive so far. Did everyone graduate from last year? And as far as Coach Fulmer's comment this is the deepest he has ever seen at ORU, really?
ORUalum
Murray St loads the bases in the 9th, but ORU hangs on for the 6-5 opening day victory. W: McMinn SV: Wolf GWRBI: Wilson
ORUTerry
We have 23(!!) new players this year. That means a huge adjustment as players get used to each other and D-1 pitching... and the coaches get used to different lineups.
theeagleman5
TheEagleman is very pleased with the ORU sweep of Murray State today......first game we come back from 5 runs down to win, 6-5....then in the nightcap ORU pounds the Racers, 11-3....now lets go out and get the sweep on Sunday..... Old Titan
Impressive opening day sweep considering all the new faces. Not a huge fan of saving the bottom half of the old scoreboard for the line score and such. Is that the actual end product, or a temporary stituation? Video stream was top-notch, coupled with consummate announcing pro Don King calling the game. Very enjoyable!

And as far as Coach Fulmer's comment this is the deepest he has ever seen at ORU, really? Seriously? You ever try to stay loose and hit with an aluminum bat in 35-degree weather? All those singles today will likely convert to extra base hits when the weather warms up. Murray State played some nice defense in the infield today, or we would have seen even more offense from ORU. All in all, great to pick up two wins at home midway through February when a lot of teams in the country can’t even play due to wintery weather.

Otis 83
Enjoyed the video stream and the hot bats in game 2 despite the difficult conditions OT described. Nice start to the season.
EagleManiac
Let’s get the sweep!
Old Titan
ORU with a commanding 12-0 lead through just four innings under sunny but windy & chilly conditions on Sunday. Spencer with a 3-run bomb in the 2nd inning, batted around in the 4th, eleven hits and counting for the home side. Freshman righty Isaac Coffey with just 1 hit and six K's in his first start. The Racers appear to be out of pitching already. I'm guessing we might see a lot of different arms from ORU the rest of the way as well, just to give as many guys as possible a taste of live action this weekend. Looking really good so far! Old Titan
18-3 final score, Trevor McCutchin goes 5-for-6 with a dinger (five consecutive hits after his first at-bat), and six ORU pitchers combine for zero earned runs in their first D-1 appearances. Fantastic weekend of work leading into (weather permitting) some really good competition this next week.
ORUalum
I know it's just the first weekend, but encouraged by the freshman arms of Wolf, Odom, and Coffey. Great college debuts for all three.
