ORUTerry
KState beat West Virginia after being down 21; we turned the game off when WV took a 10 point lead In middle of the 2nd half. Rutgers beats Ohio State... etc. It’s very hard to win on the road in conference play.
theeagleman5
ORU opens +9.5 at PFW and the O/U is a whopping 158.5....really tough calls but TheEagleman thinks that this should be a very high scoring run and gun game....we have seen a much improved ORU team in the past 3 games but let's see if they can hang in on the road tonight in this battle of Summit unbeatens.....the difference in this team over the past 10 days has been their ability to overcome adversity when it happens....previously over the past season and a half ORU has folded when the going got tough....I will be interested to see what happens tonight...we will need big games from E-Man, Obanor, Kearns and Smith to have a shot....the Mastadons can score a ton of points as evidenced by the 104 they put up vs. SDSU last week.....they can easily match that tonight if the Golden Eagles don't play some tough D.....still, expect a high scoring affair and TheEagleman thinks that the Good Guys do have a shot in this one....but gotta think we come up a little short in the end.....PFW 91 ORU 83 in an entertaining contest...... Old Titan
To have any chance at all, ORU has GOT to defend the 3-point line: 2017 score in Fort Wayne: 102-91, Dons (with TWENTY 3-pointers by the hosts) 2018 score in Fort Wayne: 85-75, Dons (who were "only" 12-of-24 from 3) Can the zone make any difference this year vs. one of the top 3-point shooting teams in D-1 (3rd in attempts at almost 29 per game; 8th in made 3's with just under 11 per contest) and limit the Dons to under double-digits on the made 3's? Like Terry said, it's a conference road game, which are always tough. I'm guessing IPFW 90, ORU 75 (which would comfortably satisfy the "over"). As always, hope I'm wrong! ORUTerry
Fort Wayne is an offensive juggernaut, similar to SDSU. Konchar is a force of nature on the offensive side of the ball. When he isn't scoring, he is distributing the ball to teammates and grabbing rebounds. Not sure he can be contained. Just hope he has an off night. Harrell is almost as dangerous as a shooter. The problem is that they can make guarded shots. Hopefully our perimeter length can disrupt them somewhat. Those two guys have really not been stopped all year - especially in conference. You have to guard the other Fort Wayne players and not let them beat you. Keys: Must be active in the zone and get hands up to contest shots; limit dribble penetration Need to win the rebounding battle and hopefully get some offensive rebounds/put backs Limit turnovers; these are killers on the road and obviously limit possessions Use our relative size advantage to score Maintain composure when things go against us (they make a run, bad calls by the referees, shots don't fall) Take good shots and make sure the right guys are shooting the ball. Saunders and Malone can contribute with defense, assists and rebounds - but not shoot.

ORUTerry
Oops - completely forgot about that one. The key is having the right guys at the line. We are shooting a decent 76.3% from the free throw line in conference play.
theeagleman5
TheEagleman is probably going to tease IPFW and the Over....might also tease IPFW and SDSU who is a heavy favorite at home over lousy Denver....
Old Titan
Is there anyone who "plays" the Summit League more than Eagleman? His bets probably move the lines in Vegas on conference games! #Whale #NoWaitJumboShrimp
theeagleman5
TheEagleman loves betting the Summit League....it's made me a lot of $$$ over the years.....SDSU should kill Denver tonight.....would be shocked if they don't win by 20+.....the line is currently -18..... Keenan Henderson
Young team is struggling on the road. E-man showed up, 18 and 11 rebounds, but the rest of the team is quiet. Too many turnovers that allowed IPFW do go on a 20 to 2 run.
ORUIllini
Clearly there is more room for this team to improve...don’t get discouraged, fight again on Saturday.
EagleManiac
Closing in on a 30 point blowout. Yikes.
theeagleman5
Well that was ugly....94-69....oh well...worse than I thought but TheEagleman comes up with a huge easy win....now just need SDSU to whip Denver for another one.....Looks like E-Man was the only one to show up....IPFW is really good....
