Old Titan
The Summit League hosted a first-ever live video broadcast of Basketball Media Day today, from their new headquarters of Sioux Falls. Produced by conference broadcast partner Midco Sports and broadcast in real-time on Facebook Live, the format consisted of each coach taking the stage for 15 minutes to answer questions from the assembled press, plus additional interview time off-camera as requested of each coach. 17 of the 18 men's and women's basketball programs had their head coaches in attendance, which is no small feat considering that Sioux Falls isn't exactly an aviation hub. Purdue-Fort Wayne men's basketball coach Jon Coffman was the only head coach of the 17 represented teams that was not in attendance; they sent an assistant coach in his place . ORU men's basketball was the only league team not represented at the event. I'm told that Head Coach Paul Mills was involved in a minor accident on Saturday, and was unable to make the trip, which is a shame because the resulting video might have made some nice social media content for now and down the road. Hope he's OK! Regardless, it was good to see & hear ORU women's basketball coach Misti Cussen. She's always a class act, and represents ORU in a great way! https://www.facebook.com/thesummitleague/
ORUTerry
Misti Cussen always represents ORU well. Sorry to hear about Coach Mills... I hope he is doing okay. Even a “fender bender” can cause aches & pains.
