Wonderful to learn Lakota Beatty is coming back as a redshirt senior to complete her career @ ORU this coming season.  She will be honoring her late sister, Ashley, by wearing #23.

TULSA, Okla. – The Oral Roberts athletic department and Head Coach Misti Cussen announced Thursday that Lakota Beatty has been deemed eligible by the NCAA to compete in the 2018-19 basketball season for the Golden Eagles.

Beatty returns to the Golden Eagles for her sixth career season and will be classified as a redshirt senior after sitting out the 2017-18 women's basketball season. During the 2016-17 campaign, Beatty averaged 28.1 minutes per game with 11.5 points per game. She recorded a 41.2 percent field-goal average and a 42 percent average from three-point range. She scored a season high 23 points in the Golden Eagles' win at Arkansas shooting 9-for-12 overall and 5-for-6 from three-point range on December 21, 2016.

"What a blessing for Lakota's career to have this opportunity for completion, "Head Coach Misti Cussen said. "To say that I am proud of her would be a huge understatement. Her perseverance and work ethic to maintain her academic eligibility over the past year has been outstanding. Knowing that she will complete her basketball career at ORU, while finishing her graduate degree in the spring, is a testament to the amazing spirit of Lakota and the Beatty family, founded in their faith."

Originally from Anadarko, Oklahoma, Beatty began her collegiate basketball career at Oklahoma State University before transferring to ORU. She will wear No. 23 in honor of her late sister and ORU teammate, Ashley Beatty.
