theeagleman5
The Jacks coming to JLJ this weekend sporting a lusty 2-14 record and have lost 5 in a row....they give up A LOT of runs....ORU needs to get the bats warmed up this weekend....if we can't sweep SDST.....then the Good Guys have a serious problem..... ORU82
Why do we use McMinn on Friday nights with a national tv audience? Just gave up a 3 run homer in the top of the 3rd and already at 69 pitches heading into the bottom of the 3rd.
ORUalum
87 pitches in 3 2/3 innings before getting the hook. I don't think McMinn has a quality start this year. What the new pitching coach is doing is beyond me. He needs to be demoted to mid-week or middle innings relief. It was a red flag when they said they were resting his arm during the fall. He obviously put too many innings on it or was injured in cape cod this past summer. He's not the same pitcher we saw last year.
theeagleman5
Yeah....McMinn has to go as the Friday night starter....he walked 4 guys and far too many pitches....time to move up Ausua........on a bright note, ORU up 12-4 in the 7th as the SDST pitchers have walked 10 batters.....the Good Guys have thrown in a few key hits.....this game has turned into a rout..... theeagleman5
Larkins can't throw strikes either and has gotten in deep trouble in the top of the 7th....it's now 12-6 with bases loaded and Michaels has come on in relief....SDST hurlers have thrown 165 pitches thru 6 innings which is ridiculous.....this game is already 3 hours old.... ORUalum
U-G-L-Y................ORU wins 14-9. SDSU scores 9 runs on only 4 hits. W: Larkins HR: Keizor
theeagleman5
Both teams had 10 walks...brutal...we will take the 14-9 win but ORU needs Ausua to right the ship with a strong effort on the mound this afternoon...also the .250 team batting average is a major concern....its not like ORU has been playing a bunch of top 20 teams..... ORUalum
16-12........ORU takes game 1 of the double-header. Just an absolute horrible performance from the bullpen.........they did just about everything they could to blow an 11 run lead. W: Ausua HR: Henson, Cummings, Montoya
ORU82
Good guys win the first game of the double header 16-12, but it was UGLY. SDSU scores 9 runs in 7th, 8th and 9th innings. I am not very impressed with this year's team.
EagleManiac
Wasn’t the pitching staff supposed to be the strength of this team?
theeagleman5
Bullpen has blown the lead in game 2 and we are now in the 11th inning tied at 3....ORU had bases juiced in the bottom of the 10th with one out and failed get a hit....This team has really been disappointing over the past few weeks after a really nice start..... ORUalum
Ideally you set up your weekend with an ace that gives 7+ innings on Friday. ORU has been scuffling to even get 4 or 5 innings out of McMinn, thus taxing the pen early in the weekend and trying to stretch out appearances. ORU's starters have to be more efficient and pitch later in the game.......lots of free passes and HBP's
ORUalum
Lucky to get the sweep........not great baseball from the good guys this weekend W: Stout HR: Rosenberg (x2)
theeagleman5
ORU now 11-6 after the walkoff sweep but pitching changes are needed for next weekend....
