theeagleman5
The Mavericks are struggling as they come to Tulsa to face ORU in a 3 game set starting tonight....Omaha is 12-33 overall and 7-9 in the Summit...they are going to need to probably win at least 5 out of their final 6 games to have a chance to make the Summit Tournament....so they should be well motivated this weekend.....ORU also struggling the past week losing 3 of their last 4 thanks to some bullpen woes....the Good Guys need to snap out of it and get some decent pitching vs. Omaha.....the bats have been solid and runs shouldn't be a problem at home. ORU should be able to clinch the #1 seed in the post season tournament with a victory as early as tonight.....33-14 is not shabby but Let's get back on track!....TheEagleman wants a 36-14 record come Sunday night....GO BLUE!!!... BBallFan
There is a high school graduation at the Mabee Center tonight so please allow a little extra time to get to the ballpark for the first pitch!

theeagleman5
Great grab by Roark to end the game and preserve an 8-0 win over Omaha. McGregor gives us 6 shutout innings and ORU clinches the #1 seed....
ORU82
Congratulations to the Good Guys for the 8-0 victory tonight. The win secures the 17th consecutive regular season Summit League championship for ORU and also guarantees that the Tourney will again be at JLJ next year. Go Golden Eagles! theeagleman5
ORU up 1-0 in the 5th on a Williams HR. Ausua throwing well. One hit thru 4...TheEagleman was hoping for good pitching this weekend and so far 22 innings no runs.......
ORUalum
you can't mismanage this last inning any worse. i get the effort to play everyone on senior day, but you save your best arm (Stout) if you get into trouble......you don't open the ninth with Stout and then pull him after recording an out. just horrible baseball by ORU........wasted an absolutely terrific outing by Ausua.
theeagleman5
Totally embarrassing....blowing a 5 run lead like that....geez.... 5-5 as we go to the home 9th.
ORUalum
ORU gets bailed out by Omaha.......a walk-off walk from Shelton to win it. it's a win, but...............yuck!
theeagleman5
Ugly 6-5 win but that's baseball. Geez that last pitch was close....right about where the previous strike was called. But ORU will take it.....36-14 with the Pokes coming back to town on Tuesday night...
theeagleman5
After further review....at this point since we clinched the #1 seed, who cares who Coach Folmar plays at this point? These final games are all meaningless except for maybe beating the Pokes and winning that season series would be nice. ORU is not going to be a 3 seed in the NCAA anyway....so might as well see what some of these guys can do if needed in post season play....and no reason to risk injury by over using some of our arms in games that affect nothing. Still....very strange that Folmar used Stout at all today....it was not a save situation....but to use him for one out...then watch Lovvorn and Howe blow a 5 run lead ....just head scratching...
ORU82
I hear you Eagleman, but if we lost this game it was squarely on the Staff's shoulders. I also blame Tuesday night's loss to WIchita State on the Staff. I understand you want to get players PT, but without naming names some of the people who made an appearance at the end of today's game flat out almost blew it for us. To the Staff I ask that you DO NOT pull that crap this coming Tuesday against the Pokes! You may think these next four games are meaningless but it does not go well for the team when you are winning a game then almost lose or actually lose because of moves made by the Staff towards the end of the game.
Chevy Chase
Coach Folmar said during his fourth inning TV interview that ALL games are meaningful due to RPI, etc. He's coaching to win 'em all. A 5-0 lead in the ninth should hold up with anyone pitching. Just some tough breaks but luckily we pulled out the win.

Funny things can happen over the course of a baseball game & ANY win is a good win.
