ORU (16-7) heads up I-44 to Springfield for a rematch with Missouri State tonight.....the Bears are a solid 15-8 and won 2 of 3 at Minnesota earlier this month and also lost at Stillwater to OSU.....lost 2 of 3 last weekend at Central Michigan....but they beat us last month, 9-5 at  JLJ....MSU plays a very solid schedule so evening the season series up there will be no picnic.....also the weather tonight looks iffy with Thundershowers all over the area....might not even get this one in.....:eagles:

Missouri State has the highest rpi of anyone we've played this season. Would be huge for us to go in and take one from them.

Even with our sweep this weekend we slipped several spots to the high 70's. Perks of playing ball in the Summit League.

CMU is currently 10-13 and play down state rival Michigan tonight.  They were 3-1 against Northwestern, but have losing records against ETSU, Incarnate Word, UCF, Northeastern, Villanova, Boston College and Michigan State.  They also beat D-III Baldwin Wallace.  I am not sure how good the Chips are this year.

Good Guys win 3-1.  We are now 17-7 with WIU in town this weekend.  Would love to see a sweep of the Leathernecks this weekend.  GO GOLDEN EAGLES!

Nice win!

How does Missouri St not bunt those 2 runners over in the bottom of the 9th and give themselves 2 shots to tie the game up?  Instead, ground ball double play and a fly out....bad baseball.

That's a really nice road win for ORU tonight up in Springfield....3-1...an old fashioned  pitchers duel .Logan Michaels with 3 hit pitching....only 4 hits total by the Bears and 6 for us....Whatley the only player with 2 hits....MSU had the tying runs on in the 9th but good guys got a big double play.......yep...the bunt would have been the wise play....:eagles:

Very nice road win against a quality opponent. This ORU squad is resilient and opportunistic.

Interesting facts.  Of our 17 wins, tonight's win was only our second win of the season against a team with a (as of today) winning record (the other was DBU).  And, our only loss to a team with a losing record was our home loss to Kansas two weeks ago.  We are also 6-1 on the road, with our only road loss at Minnesota (and 0-2 on neutral field).

Record vs. teams with winning record: 2-6

Record vs. teams with losing record: 15-1

Exactly....ORU is 17-7....ENJOY THE RIDE!!...we can only play who is on the schedule and we know the Summit League is weak....but this is THE ONE sport where ORU wins....TheEagleman isn't going to complain....plus, we do have OU, OSU and a few other tough games coming up....and Summit League road games can always be a challenge with the colder weather up north....Let's just enjoy as we head to the Summit League playoffs and a probable NCAA berth.....:eagles::oru-logo::eagles:

Now, just a minute here, OT.... don't call ME the Debbie Downer! :-D

I give you the straight facts, and YOU made the DD interpretation.

As for my interpretation... We have defeated all the teams that we were supposed to beat - and while we could have won a couple more, we haven't had any stupid losses.  And we play really well on the road.  That's a formula for a pretty successful season!  Just call me the "glass half full" guy!
