With the firing of Bob Williams at UC Santa Barbara and the retirement of Dave Loos at Austin Peay, Scott Sutton has now moved up two more rungs on a very prestigious list of "Coaches With The Longest Tenure At Their Current School".

Scott currently ranks No. 14 on the list.  Here's the top twenty names:

1984

3. April 1, Greg Kampe, Oakland

1989

5. April 26, Gregg Nibert, Presbyterian
6. May 19, Bob McKillop, Davidson

1990

7. Oct. 1, Ron Cottrell, Houston Baptist

1995

Look at the names on that list!  It's a virtual "Who's Who" of college basketball coaches, and surprisingly it contains a number of other mid-major guys who no doubt had opportunities at other places, but chose instead to stay at their current schools.

You can argue all you want as to why Scott Sutton hasn't moved on from ORU over that time, but there's something to be said for sheer longevity, however it comes about.

And, don't think for a minute that Scott's position on that list would not figure prominently in the story should he ever be relieved of his duties at ORU.
