love him or hate him, it's gonna be a wild ride an unmitigated disaster the next 4 years

Fixed.^^^^^

And before you get started, you might as well know that I voted for John Kasich in the Republican primary.

And, if he hadn't run, I would have voted for Dr. Ben Carson.

And in his place, I would have voted for Marco Rubio.

And, if none of those guys had been available, I would have voted for Mike Huckabee.

Then, in order:  Jeb Bush, Chris Christie, Rand Paul, Ted Cruz, Carly Fiorini, Deez Nuts, and a cardboard cut-out of John McCain.

That's because I vote for fiscal and social c-o-n-s-e-r-v-a-t-i-v-e-s.

I was not afforded that option in the general election:  only a "lose/lose" option between a raise-taxes-and-spend Socialist, and a cut-taxes-and-spend Populist, both of whom threatened to bankrupt the Republic with ridiculous campaign promises designed solely to get them elected.

Some choice!  Some result!  Heaven help us...

:-D....John Kasich?....yeah...he would have been a good choice....what a putz....Ben Carson?....nice guy and the man I want operating on my brain...but not running the USA....I like Rubio a bit but just another Washington talking head....Jeb Bush???...enough Bushes already....tired of the smug look on the face of his brother, George W. and the old man was a nightmare also.....Clinton and Obama total socialists.....just saying it's time for a change...TheEagleman agrees that Mr. Trump needs to mind his manners but this is what he is....give him a chance...if he doesn't follow thru then in 4 years we go back to the same old same old....but I agree Donald should wear a bullet proof vest and it's likely he will have trouble from both sides of the aisle...that speech on Friday was dynamite...he brutalized all of them...and frankly we all have to agree that Congress should be ashamed of the job they have done the past 25 years just lining their own pockets.....they all get big pensions and health benefits for life and what the we get?....zip.....oh well...it's only been 48 hours...give the President a shot....he can't be worse than this last guy....but time will tell....God is in control.....hey, at least Franklin Graham seems to like our new President.....;-)

This "change for change sake" argument makes about as much sense as firing Scott Sutton and replacing with him with some rich booster who has never coached or played the game before, but promises to build a new Mabee Center and make TU pay for it.

I simply can not argue with bizarro attitudes such as this.

Much more, I won't.

But, when I update this thread later this year as a reminder of the dangers of blind loyalty & personality cults, just remember:  I told you so...

....TheEagleman bizarro??....I am fairly normal with a few odd habits but not bizarro....I am just like a lot of middle aged white males in this country who are a bit fed up with all the crap going on in government....the liberal left is out of control and full of hate (ie: listen to Madonna yesterday and Chris Matthews comparing Trumps' speech to Hitler).......women's rights?....sure, why not?....they outnumber us anyway....lol.....but there are a lot of us regular joes out here who are not happy...LGBT rights?....knock yourself out (5% of the population???)....but if this younger generation wants to see our national debt doubled every 8 years and is happy with that...fine....I won't be the one to have to pay it off....they will....but Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, John Kasich and even Marco Rubio and the like aren't the answer....hey, If I had the answers, then I would be having dinner tonight with Warren Buffett but he hasn't called me yet.....I understand people having reservations about President Trump....I can't guarantee he will set things right...but I think he was the best hope of what was out there and you know he can't be bought....and like I said...if he screws it up worse then in four years you can elect Rubio, Cruz, Booker or Warren.....TheEagleman respects that we ORU grads may have a lot of different political views...and that's all right....but I am guessing those clowns won't be able to fix our problems either.....I trust in the Lord.....not Donald Trump....but the USA needs a radical change and a lot of this country is ready for it....might as well roll the dice...because ever since Reagan left office it's been a mess....

i was not trying to start anything. my comment was not an endorsement.  it was however a statement of fact. it's going to be a wild 4 years --- i.e. the second day in office was spent arguing over the size of the crowd (which, i guess is an improvement over arguing about the size of an anatomical part during the primary season)

i've never voted in my life. so i don't make judgements on how others vote.

as far as i'm concerned, the guy has two jobs --- appoint a couple more sc justices in the mold scalia or thomas.  if he accomplishes that and keeps us out of needless wars, the guy will be a success in my mind.
