Chevy Chase
I did some research with the guys at the Sports Animal and these are their comments re: our broadcasts: 1. Check ORU or Sports Animal website to find out if a broadcast will be on 97.1 or 1550. As a rule, ALL women's basketball and baseball games are on 1550. Men's basketball games and radio coaches shows are on 97.1 unless OU football pregame, Thunder basketball, or Broken Arrow football conflict with our start times. In those cases, the ORU games are moved to 1550. Lately, Thunder basketball has been killing us. 2. 97.1 games are streamed on the Tune In app, as well as our website. 1550 games are NOT streamed on the Tune In app but should always be available on our website. If the 1550 games are not on our site, it's because someone at the Sports Animal failed to turn on the stream. Adam Hildebrandt will remind them before each game. 3. The audio issues are all on the Sports Animal. Lately, the 1550 games have been a bit over modulated. They are working to correct that problem. 4. Women's basketball has elected to have only their home games and all conference tournament games broadcasted due to budget issues. When women's basketball is on the road, fans can go to the opponent's website to hear the games. Sometimes, there may be a slight fee. The preemptions for Thunder, OU, and Broken Arrow are frustrating for everyone, however there are no stations in town that will commit to ORU events without preemptions of their own. With that in mind, the Sports Animal is still the best situation for ORU.
