Old Titan
Ryan is the nephew of former University of Missouri All-American and Indiana Pacer center Steve Stipanovich. Steve made national news in 1980 against ORU at the Mabee Center in his first game back from his infamous shooting accident, when "he accidentally discharged a loaded firearm, hitting himself in the shoulder. He initially told police that a masked intruder, wearing cowboy boots and a flannel shirt broke into his apartment on Sunrise Drive in Columbia, Missouri, and shot him while screaming obscenities about basketball players. The next day, Stipanovich recanted the story and admitted that he shot himself by accident." (Wikipedia) National media pointed out that he could not have picked a less-hostile road environment than ORU for his return to action, and they were right: as I recall, he went for about 25-and-10 that night, despite a big bandage on his upper arm.
