Rainy weather has postponed the home opener vs. the Shockers to Wednesday afternoon....forecast tomorrow is sunny and upper 50's....a nice day for some late winter baseball....and ORU needs a win because with 3 road games at Dallas Baptist coming up this weekend the schedule doesn't get any easier....and we never play well vs. DBU....starting 0-6 would be a nightmare.....:o

Big win in the home opener for ORU....we go with a bullpen game to save our pitching for DBU and give up only 3 hits....but 11 walks....yikes!....Garza is a heart attack....but Rolando Martinez goes 3- 3 with an HR and 2 RBI...also 3 hit games for Rotola and Roark....Billy Lovvorn got the W with 2 1/3 innings of scoreless relief....so ORU is 1-2 heading to Texas for a big weekend vs. Dallas Baptist....:eagles:

Definitely concerned about the K/BB+HBP ratio, both from an offensive (26:14) and pitching (17:24) perspective.

Even more curious is that of 113 AB so far this season, ALL have been taken by ORU starters.  No pinch-hitters or replacements (except on the mound) in any of the three games, including a 12 inning game which would normally increase pinch hitting opportunities for strategic (LH v. RH, specialist defensive) purposes.  Does this mean that there is no depth on this team?  Very odd, especially early in the season when a coach will usually mix lineups to find something that works.

Anyone closer to the team have any insights here?
