ORUalum
Coach Sutton wasted no time filling the vacant scholarship if this is true... 6'8 Emmanuel Nzekwesi of @MoravianPrep has committed to Oral Roberts. He will enroll in January https://twitter.com/JamieShaw5/status/672563292091625472
ORUIllini
I'm sure I know the answer to this......but, there's no way he is able to play this year, right? what about practicing this year? 6'8"....sweet!
WingMaaaan
Some of you may remember that ORU went after Emmanuel pretty strongly out of HS (3 star recruit) but he committed to Weber St. Welcome to ORU, Emmanuel! https://twitter.com/weberhq/status/646126082211610624
ORU82
Ok, a quick look at the Moravian Prep Twitter site and the 1st three tweets mentions DePaul, UIC and Utah in reference to their players. Not too shabby.

ORUTerry
He signed a LOI with Weber State on October 11, 2014 but never enrolled - evidently because of immigration issues. Emmanuel Nzekwesi is originally from the Netherlands and moved to the US to attend Byron Nelson High School and play basketball. I guess he is attending Moravian Prep in an effort to get his immigration issues resolved. Not sure if that has been taken care of - if so, he is immediately available. His tweets indicate that he is a Believer. http://www.standard.net/Sports/2014/10/14/More-international-flare-for-WSU-hoops-with-recent-commit
theeagleman5
TheEagleman is all for ORU signing all the 6-8 illegal immigrants we can find.....especially when they can get about 2 feet above the rim.....bring it on!....

Old Titan
Here's a little background on Moravian Prep. While it seems perfectly suited to Emmanuel's situation while sorting out his visa issues, as prep schools go this ain't exactly Holland Hall... http://www.phenomhoopreport.com/news_article/show/555256-phenom-open-gym-tour-moravian-prep-hickory-nc Since it's headquartered in Hickory, NC, wondering if this program has any sort of link to the old Patterson School, which ORU recruitniks will remember as a prep school pipeline before closing a few years ago for former ORU players Steven Roundtree, Hunter McLintock, and Jale Lliteras (and near-ORU-star Jeremy Hazell). Gotta wonder if our ol' Carolina buddy World B. Otto is involved in this get, as well.

ORUJason
From the video he looks like a fundamentally solid player with decent footwork, athletic skills, blocking ability, who can also get an ocassional steal, hit a mid range jump shot, block out, slam dunk, and has future potential for the growth of his skill set. I think I am not so disappointed that this scholarship opened up after all. Nice get by the coaching staff.

At least according to Wikipedia, Moravian Prep leases the facilities at the now-closed Patterson School. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Patterson_School
ORUalum
it sounds like issues remain....let's hope everything gets ironed out. Nzekwesi released from Weber State, signs with Oral Roberts (excerpt) “The family wanted him released so he could look at other options,” Rahe said. “Oral Roberts signed him, and now they’re trying to figure it out. The issue hasn’t been resolved. We tried and we just weren’t able to get anything done.” According Rahe, the Nzekwesi family is in the United States on an expired visitor visa, which needs to be renewed every 60 days. In order for Emmanuel to play college basketball, he needs a student visa, which he can’t receive until he goes back to the Netherlands and applies at the U.S. Embassy.
