BlueGold
A couple of clips with highlights of Hillary from last season. Hillary's #21 in white in both. She can score in so many ways, big-time range, excellent from the line (over 80%).I tried to embed these but couldn't figure out how. I didn't see a help section. The links also open in the same tab, not sure how to have it open in a new tab. Guess a right click and open in a new tab will work. Geesh, what a mess. If anyone has any instructions on how to use this new site with embedding, etc. that would be great.Hillary & Woodward vs. Newcastle: http://www.hudl.com/v/GyP7HHillary & Woodward vs. Elk City: http://www.hudl.com/v/H1Xx6
BlueGold
It's been quite a season for Hillary and the Woodward Boomers. They lost their season opener and then she suffered a serious concussion in their next game and missed a month. During that time Woodward managed to play pretty even, and when she came back they caught fire and ran off a streak where they've won 18 of their last 19 and 14 in a row, which includes their 2 wins in the state regional and a win in the area tournament over the fourth-ranked team in the state. That win qualified them for the State Tournament. They entered as the #8 seed and came to the Tulsa area this past Thursday and beat #7 seed Skiatook 56-41 at Memorial HS. Hillary had 24 points in the win. Tonight they 'upset' the #1 seed, East Central, 57-51 at the Mabee Center, which of course will be Hillary's home arena starting next season when she comes in as an ORU freshman. Hillary had 38 points in tonight's win: She had 20 points in the first half, 1 in the 3rd period, and 17 points in the crucial 4th, when Woodward came back from being down to surge ahead and get the win. Here's the shot she hit at the buzzer to end the 1st period: Links to articles on the game: Scott Wright, NewsOK: http://newsok.com/class-5a-girls-state-tournament-woodwards-hillary-hurst-scores-38-in-upset-of-tulsa-east-central/article/5484477 Mike Brown, Tulsa World: http://www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextra/okpreps/a-girls-woodward-ends-east-central-quest-with--/article_ea0d5d46-f968-593b-903c-4c9ca3c3e38e.html Woodward was last in the State Tournament 10 years ago (2006), and now they're a win away from winning the gold ball. They play Claremore tomorrow night at 6pm at the Mabee Center in the Girls' 5A Championship Game. I'll be watching online on Cox HS Sports Hub (http://coxhshub.com/cox-high-school-sports-hub-game-of-the-week/) and cheering the Boomers on! BlueGold
Congrats to Hillary and the Woodward Boomers on winning the gold ball, they are 5A state champions! It took overtime but the Boomers prevailed 50-41 over Claremore. Hillary had 31 points. She was named MVP of the State Tournament (93 points in 3 games, and more importantly, 3 wins!).
