Apparently Tyler Saladino was called up to start at 3B for the White Sox today...

Tyler went 0-for-3 in his MLB debut on Friday afternoon vs. the Cubs at Wrigley, but he had an RBI triple for his first big-league hit on Saturday:

Tyler is the fourth Golden Eagle to play in the bigs this season, joining Alex "Chi Chi" Gonzalez (Rangers), Doug Bernier (Twins), and Dallas Beeler (Chicago Cubs).

Saladino apparently made quite an impression on the White Sox:  he started all three games against the Cubs, batting second and playing third base.  He may get sent back down due to roster limitations, but he definitely appears to have held his own at the highest level.

....VERY NICE!!!.....and ORU gets a little pub in that ESPN article....sounds like Tyler will have a shot to show what he can do during the last 2 months of the season....3rd base is clearly his job to lose now....

I remember seeing that he also had a walk-off hit on August 30 against the Mariners, but I forgot to post it. Sally has done a little of everything this year. Pretty cool stuff!

White Sox traded for Todd Frazier today.  Saldino was not listed as any of the players that were traded between the Dodgers/White Sox/Reds.  Not sure what that means for his future with the White Sox.

They will probably slide Tyler over one spot to play his natural position at SS. The White Sox also decided not to pick up the club option on Alexei Ramirez, presumably to bring in a free agent...

But, with them adding Brett Lawrie last week at 2B, the Sox are gonna have better pop than last year and hopefully that will keep them from making any more offseason moves in the infield. Tyler's defensive skills should at least keep him on the big league roster in utility, but I think he will most likely be the Opening Day starter at short.
