theeagleman5 Posted May 12, 2015 Share Posted May 12, 2015 This is actually a really big game for ORU tonight....should we get upset by SDSU in the Summit Tournament which isn't a total impossibility considering that they just whipped us 2 of 3 at home...we really need every win possible to bolster our overall record and need to get to that magic # of 40 wins to impress the selection committee should we need an at large berth....so ORU needs to beat the Shockers tonight or it will hurt the RPI to lose to 146 ranked WSU..... theeagleman5 Posted May 13, 2015 Share Posted May 13, 2015 Four errors leading to five unearned runs given up by ORU tonight probably didn't help you guys digest the dinner very well in Wichita this evening....ORU falls 7-6 in walk off fashion.....that's a very bad loss to a mediocre Shocker team..... ORUJason Posted May 13, 2015 Share Posted May 13, 2015 The errors factored in to the loss, but there were runners put on base in both the 8th and 9th innings, and Wichita State made us pay for getting those runners on base. The hitting is still impressive and the pitching is still pretty good, but the defense is the weakest link of this team. Their fielding average is slightly above middle of the pack nationally right now. However, they need to not let this one tough loss in extra innings steal their mojo. theeagleman5 Posted May 13, 2015 Share Posted May 13, 2015 Yes, TheEagleman is over last nights' loss already......the 3 games starting on Thursday night vs. WIU are VERY important....ORU needs a sweep if we want to have a shot at the 40 win mark this season....currently the Good Guys are at 35-14.....
