Rod Pearson is likely playing the best basketball of his college career. That's good because the Oral Roberts senior point guard from Kansas City could face his greatest challenge Saturday night. South Dakota State visits for a Summit League battle of unbeatens, and ORU head coach Scott Sutton said Pearson will be guarding one of the league's premier players. "I think Nate Wolters may be one of the most talented guards in America," Sutton said. Kevi Luper is homesick, but having fun. That's from someone who knows her well. "Daily, I get three or four texts from her," Oral Roberts University women's basketball coach Jerry Finkbeiner said. Luper, a junior standout from Adair, is carrying the ORU banner as part of Team USA for the 2011 Pan American Games, which open Friday in Guadalajara, Mexico. (read more)

"An Oral Roberts University freshman is one of two people who were found shot to death Monday in a Tulsa park, the university's president told faculty, staff and students in an email Monday evening. Police identified the two victims as Carissa Horton, who would have turned 19 on Sept. 27, and Ethan Nichols, 21." This occurred at Hicks Park, near 34th and Mingo, which is some distance from ORU.
