  1. Good afternoon friends. I thought I would expand the scope of my information services to the great game of baseball. Maybe we can get this pinned as well. I leave that up to the mods. First of all, I have confirmed with a member of the ORU Athletics staff that all Summit League baseball games, home and away, will be on the Summit League Network. In addition, all ORU home games will be on the SLN. I inquired because that isn't yet indicated on the schedule at oruathletics.com nor will you find the Evansville games on the SLN schedule but this is a quote "rest assured, all games will be on SLN." That having been said, the focus of my efforts will be on non Summit League road games. It looks like it is time for many of us to fire up those ESPN+ subscriptions. 2. Huge game in the Summit League this Thursday night in Minnesota....both teams tied for 3rd (5-4) and the winner will be sitting pretty with a great shot to grab a #1 or #2 seed in the March Tournament.....Tommies are VERY tough at home (8-2) but have lost 3 of their last 5 games.....lest we forget they smoked the Good Guys at Mabee last month in one of our most embarrassing performances of the season....TheEagleman is hoping that our guys are flying north with revenge on their minds.....ORU will have to bring the A game in order to have a chance of winning at St. Thomas ....we really need to get a split on this trip if there is any hope of getting a top two seed in Sioux Falls.....expecting the Golden Eagles to be at least a 4 or 5 point dog in this contest.... .

  3. You are our Rush Limbaugh for ORU basketball news. You listen to painful content (and report) so we don't have to.

  4. Good stuff ORUTerry. Conner Floyd had fallen off my radar after the early season injury last season. Our starting pitching should be more than solid with Fowler, Floyd and Hall in the weekend rotation and the more than capable Joshua Caravalho starting midweek games and available for use on the weekend if needed. We will certainly miss Cade Denton in the closer role. Perhaps we will see Dalton Patten in that role this season. Interesting historical note opening up against the Purple Aces on 2/16...our old Midwestern City Conference rivals. I can't wait for baseball season to start!

  5. Ladies have a big game at Mabee tomorrow night and just like the men this is a revenge match vs. the Tommies....Both teams tied for 3rd in the Summit and a victory will propel the winner into the top of the league with a shot at a #1 or #2 seed.....also just like the men....ORU will have to play much better than they did at Denver last weekend....GO BLUE!!!

  6. I wouldn't be surprised to see the Arkansas game on the SEC Network if we have a strong start this season. With our appearance in the CWS last year, that game could be a good one to see where we stand - especially if we have broken through the rankings by that time.

  7. The closest thing in an apples-to-oranges comparison would be Mark Gottfried, who left ORU after his freshman year in '82-'83 and finished his career as the starting point guard on three straight Sweet Sixteen teams at Alabama, but whose individual career numbers do not compare to Max. Some other notable transfers who were "good-but-not-like-Max-good" include: Dana Lewis (Tulsa, late 1960's) Elvis Rolle (Florida State, late 1970's) Korey Billbury (Virginia Commonwealth, mid-2010's) DaQuan Jeffries (Tulsa, late 2010's) Kevin Obanor (Texas Tech, early 2020's) ...plus a slew of guys who found the grass was not greener elsewhere (Connor Vanover and Patrick Mwamba the latest examples)
