  1. This is a clear case of employing the "he had it coming" defense for Bedford. Denver was a bunch of thugs the whole game.

  2. Been away a few days while celebrating a birthday with my fam. Tickets that are complementary are not subject to sales tax; however, most other tickets will be taxed by the state/local authorities. I agree with OT that there is nothing ethically wrong with the giveaway tickets as they make the environment enticing for future purchasers. Truly, the basketball environment is much better in the past three seasons than I have seen in the past three decades. It certainly doesn't compare to the 70's and early 80's, but for this generation it is great!

  3. You are our Rush Limbaugh for ORU basketball news. You listen to painful content (and report) so we don't have to.

  4. I heard him say that, too. I wonder if he meant that Terry has helped him learn how to take the contact foul and still make the shot. When Max was at ORU he did drive to the basket a lot, but he didn't seem to draw enough contact to get the foul and the basket. He just wound up on the floor and I would constantly wonder why the fouls wasn't called. My guess is, there just wasn't enough contact and that has to be coached into some guys.

  5. I love the number of times we hear ORU each game he plays!!

  6. Tim Hill is not the problem. He’s a great dude who at least makes no bones of being an SDSU alum and fan. The podcast hosts, however, are that typical Upper Midwest brand of “What, did I say something wrong?” mock civility that I find frustrating and wearisome. Though it could be worse, I suppose. Could be Canadian! Anyway, I’m sure my unique blend of opinionated-bordering-on-brutal takes and conspiracy theory paranoia would no doubt make for an awkward fit with these three affable Northerners. (…even though I suppose it might make for great theatre.)

  7. From what I can tell, we only had one technical fouls assessed - which was against Coach Springman. Bedford was assessed a common foul ( his 5th) and consequently fouled out. I guess that precluded him from shooting free throws. That was a new one for me.

  8. I'm surprised he had any time Saturday to think about the broadcast, since he spent the entire game at the scorer's table smack dab in the middle of whatever was causing so many officials' reviews...

  9. I don't know why I waste my time listening to this drivel. The first FORTY MINUTES of this week's one-hour-and-twenty-minute installment focused entirely on two games: SDSU vs. USD, and UND vs. NDSU. Then they hurried through all of TWO MINUTES talking about how formidible Denver looked in losing to....(who was that team again?). Only mentioned tied-for-third ORU in passing during those precious 120 seconds, talking about Issac McBride in comparison to Tommy Bruner of Denver. Literally spent more time earlier in the podcast discussing a goal tending call in the SDSU-USD game, whether Andrew Morgan of NDSU is a true post player or not, and how apparently dangerous NDSU and USD are, despite sitting in 8th and 9th place respectively in conference play. I give up... (Actually, I'm thinking of volunteering to provide these guys a 5-10 minute capsule each week they could simply imbed within their tundra-centric dronings, titled "South of the 40th Parallel" and featuring actual insights re: ORU, UMKC, Denver and Omaha.) At least that way, I wouldn't have to bother sifting through all this reindeer poop every Monday afternoon.

  10. Thought this was important enough to earn its own thread. It’s good to see HCRS speak from his heart. He is a first year head coach and has had some missteps, which is to be expected. But this team is mentally tough and hopefully will peak as we get closer to March.

  11. THIS ^^^* is EXACTLY what I was trying to articulate @ORUTerry when we spoke Saturday night. THIS is what should be shared with recruits, and their families, and their relatives, and their coaches, before ANY discussion of NIL, or summer jobs, or playing time, or practice facilities, or majors offered, etc. THIS is where ORU has something to offer that VERY FEW schools do: “Young man, are you interested in joining us for the JOURNEY OF YOUR LIFE?” #followme

  12. Tied at 64-each in a must-win situation at No. 24 TCU with just under 4:00 to go, Max: stripped the ball falling out of bounds from a TCU player driving in to take the lead in the ensuing possession, drove baseline for an “and 1” floater drained a fall away three with the shot clock winding down on the next possession drilled a 30 foot bomb from the TCU logo on the next possession (see below) went 4-for-4 from the line on the next two possessions to seal the deal He personally outscored TCU 13-2 during that stretch. Epic!
