  1. And how many times did @Old Titan @ORU82 @TrueBlue82 and others from that era hear him say "I went to a state school outside of the state of Oklahoma?" My dad had a great line, actually he had 100s of them, but the one that comes to mind is "What happened to that agreement that he'd do the singing and Oral would do the preaching?"

  2. Tied at 64-each in a must-win situation at No. 24 TCU with just under 4:00 to go, Max: stripped the ball falling out of bounds from a TCU player driving in to take the lead in the ensuing possession, drove baseline for an “and 1” floater drained a fall away three with the shot clock winding down on the next possession drilled a 30 foot bomb from the TCU logo on the next possession (see below) went 4-for-4 from the line on the next two possessions to seal the deal He personally outscored TCU 13-2 during that stretch. Epic!

  3. Good Guys are only -3.5 at home tonight so Vegas still with doubts like all of us about this team. ORU has already beaten the Pioneers on the road and expecting a large home crowd tonight despite the earthquakes....Home team will rock Mabee Center with a solid effort and rattle the visitors in what should be a high scoring affair....take the over 161.5............... ORU 91 Denver 83. GO BLUE!!!

  4. Jonah was at the Diamond Dinner tonight. It was great hearing him and others share their memories and experiences from last season and the CWS.

  5. I found some hard numbers that you can potentially use for reference. I think most schools announce total tickets distributed (not sure if that math works out, below). This is WVU data from 2017-18 Matt Brown, of Extra Points (newsletter), has a FOIA database and that's where I found this. There are a bunch of files with ticket scan info, but most of them don't seem to indicate which school they came from. 6. I'm just excited to see our 1981 men's golf team. It was so heartbreaking to come so close to that national championship. I'll never forget it. I hope the entire team has made it back for the ceremony.

  7. Ouch! Memphis takes their first lead of the game with 40 seconds to go and hits a dagger midrange jumper to take the lead for good with 2.8 seconds remaining.

  8. They have to be 5 years out to qualify. And let’s see if last night’s earthquake will shake this team up a bit. 5.1 on the Richter scale.

  12. The Great Bill Glasson from Edmond, OK.....another huge hitter who won the Kemper Open in the mid 90s and had a runner up finish in the US Open also in the 90s....won several times on the Senior PGA Tour but yeah suffered from bad knees and a bad back i believe......I think there was another ORU grad who had a US Open 2nd place finish......might have been that Dave Barr from the 70s.....quick tale from the mid 70s....TheEagleman could play a little golf back in the day and was a HS letterman but nowhere near good enough to play at ORU....was invited to fill in a 4some with my old friend Ted Gellert/ORU Golf Coach and Dave Barr was in the group.....talk about long driving....we played Southern Hills and I think it was OR who got us on.....Barr shot a 68 i think....I came in several strokes behind Dave and Gellert....lol....they could both outdrive me by 100 yards.....it was 90 degrees that day and I think i actually shot a 90.....

  13. Interesting stats: Kansas City's largest attendance was when they played ORU on Dec 29: 1,337 (how many of these were ORU fans?) Denver has had some weak attendance figures - including 198 on Jan 13 against SDSU, in their last two home game they reported 1,278 against SD and 1,183 against Omaha). They drew 752 against ORU. Our reported crowds: Jan 6 (Weber State): 5,557 - no students Jan 11 (South Dakota): 3,517 - no students Jan 13 (St. Thomas): 4,652 - no students Jan 25 (Omaha): 4,963 Jan 27 (SDSU): 6,914 The only teams that approached our attendance: South Dakota vs SDSU on Jan 20: 3,892 SDSU vs. North Dakota on Dec 31: 3,029 SDSU vs. Omaha on Jan 18: 2,831 SDSU vs. Montana St. on Jan. 6: 2,167 NDSU vs. ORU on Jan 20: 2,017

  14. He's tan...he's rested...he's ready! (OK, OK, OK - he's neither tan NOR ready; but he should at least be rested by now! (as opposed to ah-rested, as shown here)

  15. The AAC seems like it isn’t very good this year. They have some good “name” programs with Wichita State, Memphis, and SMU. Then they have Florida Atlantic becoming a great program. However, of those teams, only Florida Atlantic is doing well. The top 3 teams in the standings are Charlotte, Florida Atlantic, and UAB. All of those are solid programs, but they aren’t the programs (with the exception of Florida Atlantic) that are supposed to be the top of the conference. Wichita State is terrible, Memphis is completely unpredictable, and SMU is very average. They just seem like a very average conference. I always wonder how some of the teams in the Summit would stack up head to head against the American. I tend to think it would be really competitive, with the exception of the top three in the American, and especially Florida Atlantic.

  16. Concerned????....Newsflash, Dave......DENVER LOST by 15!!!...they may move the ball well but play ZERO Defense and if ORU loses at home to the Pioneers then we deserve to not finish in the top half of the Summit League....TheEagleman agrees that the regular season title is up for grabs among several teams but despite their loss at home to the Bison last night I would still consider SDSU to be the favorite.....but don't count out our Golden Eagles....gotta win vs Denver at home tomorrow night and I think we will do just that! Good Guys wouldn't lose on Hall of Fame Night....would they???

  17. Talk about strange reffing.....Check out last nights' Big Ten match up between Purdue and Northwestern.....NW coach gets tossed in the final seconds of OT complaining about the officiating.....Boilers had 46 FTs and Wildcats 8.......largest disparity in the Big Ten conference in this century.....geez.....
