  1. Stands to reason; haven't had so many guys playing five and six years before, either. Career records in and around 2020 should include multi-spiked coronavirus asterisks.

  2. How does Dallas go 8-0 at home in the regular season and the best home record in football. Then play at home in the playoffs and fall behind 27-0 in the second quarter. That is just unexplainable: how you go from the best home team to looking like the worst home team in one game. No words. They just have looked so different in the playoffs than the regular season since the 90s team. It just happens over and over.

  3. Regarding coach's warning for being on the court last night, it reminded me of Ron Hunter back in the day. He was about three paces onto the court ALL THE TIME during games. I don't remember him getting warned about it, but if he did I don't think it changed his behavior much. During one of the Mid-Con Conference tournaments held at the UMAC in the early 2000s me, ORU Terry and some others were seated on the floor right along the baseline next to the IUPUI bench. Hunter, as usual, coached the game from several steps onto the court. We chattered at him endlessly to get off the court. The more we cajoled, the further out he got. A pretty humorous memory of a guy who has gone on to have a pretty good career as a head coach.

  4. Hey All, Kareem, Isaac, & Hannah have hit this great milestone for the 23-24 season! Still lots of ball to play!

  5. Sounds like you're getting yourself in the mood for the Eagles game tonight. Preemptive strike?

  6. Fake news Grippie. OU & Texas are scared of Saban. Now he is Retired so they were scared. Texas beat them in a close one but Bama was the better team. Venables & Sark will never come close to what Saban accomplished.

  7. The Summit League does not have big NIL money to throw at players and it will most likely take teams a few years to get that point. ORU still builds the same way they have for quite a while: find hidden gems from Texas (Bedford is an example). Coach Springmann has a lot of connections in the state of Texas, as he was an assistant with the Longhorns for a long time. He will find those overlooked high school or juco guys from Texas and develop them.

  8. TheEagleman not feeling any better today....credit to St. Thomas but losing at home to a Summit team that was D-III a couple years ago stings....it just can't happen....but recognize that ORU just doesn't have the horses this season....Connor and Mwamba in the line up would make a huge difference and Williams' injury stings too.....

  9. Although I haven’t thrown in the towel just yet it is wadded up in my hand getting ready for a toss. Good teams are quickly identifying our weaknesses and exploiting them in a big time way. It has become more and more obvious that the loss of Max, Carlos, Connor and Patrick is affecting us big time. McBride has been rock solid all year and Kareem ,Bedford and Weaver have been good but other than that we have a lot of inconsistency . Our lack of rebounding is something that mediocre teams are guilty of and certainly shows lack of hustle and effort. I seriously wonder how much NIL $ players at St Thomas are making? I can’t imagine they are making much which shows you don’t have to spend a fortune to get a good team. My gut tells me we will need to raise some $ to attract good players but Springman needs some key pieces next year to get back to the previous 3 years level. If our bigs can be developed to play consistently at a high level and then add a few key players that know how to win and who will fit into Springman’s system we should be fine. When you think that the average college team rotates 7-10 players and you lose 4 key players no wonder we are struggling a bit.

  10. Observations: The Tommies played like I thought they would: disciplined and smart. They milked the shot clock since they had the lead most of the night. Our help defense was really poor. How many wide open drives to the basket did they have? The stats show that we outrebounded them 37 to 34 while the Tommies outshot us 52.6% to 45.9%; from three point (35.5% to 31.6%). They shot 19/26 (73.1%) from 2-pt. We could not get stops and did not shoot well. The officials were bad. Several egregious calls: the guy who pushed Phipps away at the end of the half to get clearance for a three point shot; McBride getting hammered under the basket twice in one possession with no call and their guy skating in the lane with no call. The Tommies were very ‘handsy’ and were able to use that to their advantage. We attempted several comebacks but committed turnovers or fouls that stymied the momentum. We also could not get consistent defensive stops. Credit the Tommies for a well played game.

  11. Our section raised quite a ruckus at the official, Frank Spencer, that whistled Coach Springmann for being out on the court. Although I never saw him signal, we thought he was issuing a technical foul and we let him have it!! However, apparently it was just a warning, and all of our angst was for naught! Frank probably wondered what all the fuss was about, and kind of hid himself behind the basket stanchion while we continued to boo!! We may have missed the call on that one, but he deserved the treatment for about a dozen other calls he made tonight, so it wasn't wasted effort!!

  13. Max has become Mr. Clutch for Texas. He hit another game winning shot @ Cincinnati tonight with about 6 seconds to go. That was his second of the season as he also hit the game winner versus Louisville. Way to go Max!

  14. Just read where Minor passed away yesterday at the age of 49....was a great on the OU CWS baseball team in the early 90s and played for the Orioles and Expos in MLB...was also drafted by the 76ers of the NBA and played some basketball......tremendous athlete known for being the guy who replaced Cal Ripkin at the end of his consecutive game streak in the 90s.....always tough for the family when a loved one passes during the Holidays and no idea as to his cause of death...maybe some of you know more but he was a big part of those OU baseball and basketball teams about 30 years ago.....RIP Ryan....
