  1. As a DU fan, I have witnessed the UND aggression many times. As outlier schools in a conference that caters to the Dakotas schools, Sanford Health and MIDCO Sports, it is a double-edged sword. Yes, they all are central to the current success of the conference as well as stability but it makes it very difficult for other schools to want to remain in the conference. Even UMKC and Omaha jumped at the chance to interview with the Missouri Valley Conference. Why? Because, frankly, it is a conference of convenience for non-Dakotas schools. While the rest of us come and go, the Dakotas schools remain central to the survival of the Summit League. BTW, this is a fantastic discussion board. I go here many times to learn about what is happening in the Summit League. I love the passion and interest in ORU sports. Keep it up!

  2. A lot of truth to this. I have been guilty of thinking the grass is greener somewhere else but as I get older I have come to realize it usually isn't. Bloom where you are planted. Connor is a good player but not a great player. He may look back and realize he could write his ticket at ORU and in a system that fits his style of play. Unfortunately most D1 basketball players think they will end up in the NBA and most see themselves better than they are. Connor if you read this come back to ORU!

  6. Not the typical blow-your-doors-off No. 1 guy ORU is so often saddled with in these 1-vs-4 Regional openers. Plus he's a righty, which bodes well for two of ORU's hot left-handed hitters in Quinn and Hogan. Fantastic opportunity to score some runs and get into that shaky Cowboy bullpen.

  8. I don't know that there is a Masters program that is of interest to Connor. He would certainly have free reign in a Springmann offense to show his talents, but think he is interested in showing that he can handle bigger men his size. I hope he is doing some sort of weight training.

  10. I have to believe that the coaches are going to have a "pretty tight leash" on their pitchers tomorrow night. They can't afford to let us get in a groove at the plate and get 3+ runs ahead.

  11. Although Connor is a good player, he could get much better with the coaching and dedication needed to play at the next level. At 7'3", height like that can compensate for some lesser skills elsewhere in a player's game. Connor needs time to work through his weaknesses and build on his strengths. Coming back to ORU would provide him the playing time he needs, but it won't give him the opportunity to play against certain players he needs to show he is ready for the next level. I can't imagine that Mizzou would be a great fit for him and his style.
