  1. That article was very interesting but I would have edited it to say En route to a first team All-Summit League selection at the end of the 2022-23 season, Nelson led North Dakota State in scoring (19.9 ppg), rebounds (9.8 rpg), assists (2.4 apg), blocks (1.7 bpg) and steals (1.1 spg) however he disappeared whenever he was guarded by ORU's Kareem Thompson. He paced the Summit League in rebounding and ranked second in blocks. Showcasing his ability to score at an elite level, Nelson posted 11 games of at least 20 points and cracked the 30-point mark on three occasions.

Even the college football playoff does not make the NCAA a dime. Almost all of the NCAA's revenues come from the basketball tournament TV contract. It does appear the baseball selection committee, made up of athletic directors from all shapes and sizes of schools across the country, for whatever reason tends to favor P5 schools in general, and SEC schools in particular. BUt I doubt it's because any decisions re: the baseball tournament might move the meter when it comes to billion-dollar football decisions. I think they do it just because they know they can...
