  1. I bet even Holder at OSU thinks seven years is a little much.

  2. Given the time that Tulsa took, the money they were/are apparently willing to pay a head coach, the involvement of a national search firm, the momentum from so many players returning from an NCAA team, and the glamour of joining a new conference that includes the national champion, it is hard for me to fathom a worse hire for TU than Frank Haith. My daughter's a sophomore at Mizzou; her boyfriend works the sports desk for the Tiger student radio station. I've followed Missouri basketball a little more closely these past two years because of that. I can honestly say that practically EVERYONE affiliated with Mizzou basketball is ELATED to see Haith leave. General consensus is that Tulsa just saved Tiger Athletics hundreds of thousands of dollars to buy out the remaining three years of Haith's contract. He had four players run afoul of the law this season alone (and even in the last couple of weeks), and basketball attendance had plummeted this year. His teams were undisciplined, uninspired, and underachievers. He was literally a dead man walking in Columbia, just as he was in Miami three years ago when he fled NCAA sanctions to take the Mozzou job. And now he's getting a clean slate, with a multi-year deal for more money! "WELL PLAYED, TULSA - WELL PLAYED!"

  4. This is the latest recruit: TULSA, Okla. – Aaron Young has signed to play basketball at Oral Roberts University, it was announced by the ORU men’s basketball program on Thursday. Young joins the Golden Eagles after averaging 12 points and four assists per game last year in his one year at Eastern Oklahoma State College. Young, who will have three years of eligibility left at ORU, had a breakout game against Western Oklahoma State, scoring 29 points while grabbing four rebounds and dishing three assists. “We are excited about Aaron joining our program,†said Coach Scott Sutton. “He’s a great young man who is a tremendous leader and has a very high basketball IQ. He has played for great programs and coaches at both the high school and junior college level. He’ll come in right away and compete for playing time at the point guard position.†Young is a 2013 graduate of Edmond Memorial, where he helped his team to a pair of state championships and a state runner-up finish in his three years under Coach Shane Cowherd. Young was also a state runner-up in the 4x100m relay as a member of the track program. While in high school, Young earned OBCA all-star honors and was the 2013 Bruce Gray Invitational MVP. Also recruited by Texas State, UW-Milwaukee and North Texas, Young said he chose ORU because “I feel like ORU is a place where I can grow as a player, a man, and a man of God.â€

  5. And, Mabee will still be the nicest. Spending many millions to create a place similar to the UMAC does nothing for me. And, as far as Mabee being a home court advantage, that place is ELECTRIC when you put 5,000 fans in the building that are into the game. There have been times when you can't hear yourself think, it is so loud and intimidating. I saw a top 25 Arkansas team literally crumble to ORU when the Mabee got to rockin'.
