  1. While we've been focused on the NIT and our own postseason matchups, we've missed out mentioning that WIU and NDSU are both seeing post-season play in the CBI Tournament. The teams in it are interesting - besides the Summit League reps the field includes Pitt, that gave ORU fits in the NCAA Tournament a few years back, and Butler, NCAA Cinderella for two years running. Here's an article about the field: 2012 CBI Bracket: Pitt To Take Shot In College Basketball Invitational, Will Play First Game Against Wofford Meanwhile, the Grizz are hosting in the CIT: Golden Grizzlies Host Bowling Green in CIT Postseason Tournament It's good to see some of our conference brethren getting to play in the post-season - five teams from the Summit League in all.

  2. I'd say the 'bias' is more towards East Coast schools than Power Six - though that is there too. Again, I understand that they want to sell tickets/TV advertisements - so I am not bellyaching about the seeding that much. Just an observation. Seton Hall lost 10 of their last 15 games - including a 28 point loss to DePaul. Washington played in a very mediocre Pac-10 conference. SH beating NCAA Tournament clubs is a function of opportunity; they are going to win some of those games at home just by the law of averages. Besides, the Big East is overrated.

  3. Can't believe I can't get ESPN3. Any suggestions? Going to have to find a sports restaurant if not. Then will listen to ORUVOICE on my TuneIn app on iPhone and The Sports Animal. Best sportscaster in the land.

  4. The cheaper tickets (even free tickets) don't translate into more money for the University. Sodexo has the concession rights at The Mabee. You would think that they would pay ORU to give away tickets. Also, the extra bodies only increase the utility costs for the spring-like temperatures we have been having recently in Oklahomer (gotta' start sounding like a New Yorker if we're going to be there in a couple of weeks!).

  5. WCU will be slightly favored - better RPI and at home. ....However when ORU is on, they can beat anyone in the WNIT. WCU doesn't appear to be a great post team. They rely on guard play (Diamond & Langster). There should be a lot of scoring opportunities for the ORU post players. I look for a big game from Jordon. I hope we get some fans to make the trip.
