I understand the expectations you have for a team that is 16-4, but the game last night was not the let down it is being made out to be. These are my observations from the game... 1.) First ten minutes of the game- We played hard defense, their shots were just happening to go in. That happens early in games when opponents still have their legs. Unfortunately, ours were not going in on the other side of the court. I thought we took good shots, they just weren't quite on target. 2.) Best press I have ever seen from an ORU team after we went down by 10. After that, IPFW was ruined. Even when they were able to get it past half court, and get a shot off, they looked scared, missing even some easy layups. 3.) I dont think it was the tech. called on Gaines that changed the tide of the game, but rather the one called on Pearson. Pearson won my respect last night. The kid plays with everything he has out there. He was a HUGE part of our 11 point run, and when he sat for the last 6 minutes of the half after being called for a technical, it totally killed our momentum, and kept IPFW in the game. He is the best defender in my opinion. 4.) Niles... If the only thing you noticed last night were his points, you might be disapointed. But what I saw was a new player out there. He played with purpose. When his shots weren't falling, he didn't slink his head, he tried to contribute in other ways! At different points, he was running the offense at the top of the key, and very effectively. 5.) Roundtree always reminds me of how the game should be played. He seems to always have fun out there! I see him developing into a Green/Yemi/LO in the future!!! 6.) I could take or leave the hair, but did everyone really forget about DBH's SICK dunk last night?! 7.) Domo has officially developed into the leader we need. He sits in the corner, and when the time is right he emerges. 8.) Ref's really wanted to run the show last night!! Attributed to a lot of the lack of flow, and sloppiness of the game.

If ORU could get a 12 seed....heck, we would have a very decent shot at winning our first NCAA game since 1974......geez, TheEagleman hadn't even turned 20 yet......and it was even pre-MrsEagleman 1.....those were the days living on Five Yellow.....

I think we may have lost because Jarvis was injured. I was at the NDSU game that we lost due to injury. I think Sango was injured that game as well.
