Really? No influence at all? Andy Katz' column for ESPN.com today regarding the BracketBuster says "ORU is a home team and head coach Scott Sutton would want Wichita State, Saint Mary's or Northern Iowa." Now, let me ask you sports fans, has any one of you heard or read Scott Sutton saying that? No? But, that particularly unusual assortment of Missouri Valley and Pacific Time Zone schools DOES sound a little familiar, doesn't it? I wonder why.... BECAUSE YOU READ IT RIGHT HERE ON ORUSPORTS.COM A WEEK AGO, THAT'S WHY!!! Now, I don't know how that little seed of inspiration made it's way from our lips to Andy's ear. I don't even really care. Maybe he or an ESPN staffer has been on our board. Maybe one of our coaches or Athletic Department folks saw it here, liked the schools mentioned, and e-mailed him about it. Maybe it's all those "tweets" me and MM keep sending that have #bracketbuster and #wichitastate in the same sentence. Or, maybe Katz is just as brilliant as us, and came up with it all by his lonesome (though in that case, it seems odd he didn't mention anyone from the Eastern Time Zone). All I know is this: if the idea of us hosting one of those particular team's actually did have its Genesis here, and if Andy Katz' mention of it today ultimately ends up affecting the BracketBuster selection process, then haven't we as fans, in fact, had some influence on the outcome of this season?
