ORU Women vs St. Thomas today at noon

ORU Women take on St. Thomas today at noon. On Feb. 28th our ladies beat St. Thomas in the Mabee Center on Senior Day 67-52. On Feb. 11th we lost at St. Thomas 66-71. This should be a close, hard-fought battle, but I'm confident that ORU will win.

Our Golden Eagles host St. Thomas at 2:00 PM in their last game before the Summit League tournament. It's Senior Night, so our ladies should be highly motivated. St. Thomas is in 4th place in the Summit League with an 8-7 record. ORU is right behind them at 7-8. With a win, we will be tied for 4th at 8-8. On Feb. 11th, we lost at St. Thomas 66-71. It's payback time.

Ladies take it on the chin with the Mavericks tonight, 75-84. Three Mavericks score for their team - dropping 40, 30, and 12 on the Golden Eagles. Only one other player scored (2 points). Meanwhile, one Mavericks player has no points, but 23 rebounds (ORU is outrebounded 45-29). I have never seen a game where we had position for the rebound and the opposing team behind us gets the rebound. It doesn't matter whether we play on the road or at home - we are not getting the calls from the officiating.

ORU drops to 14-14 tonight with Senior Night (Day) on Saturday at 2:00 against UST. UMKC is giving UST all they can handle tonight in Minneapolis, leading 57-55 with 6:34 left in their game.

ORU Women squeezed out a 70-68 victory at Kansas City. Ari Gordon (20 pts, 6 reb, 2 blk, 2 stl) and Kayten Donley (10 pts, 7 reb, 1 blk) saved the day with great all-round performances.

ORU Ladies (12-10) entertain USD (17-6) at Mabee Center this Saturday afternoon in what will be a huge game for seeding in the Summit Tournament....Golden Eagles badly need a win if they want to improve on their current 4 seed standing and this is a chance to get a huge one at home....can they do it?? Hopefully a nice crowd will be on hand to root for ORU...

Jalei Oglesby returns as the masked bandit with a 21-point performance to lead our women's basketball team to victory. With the win, the Golden Eagles improved to 10-8 overall and 3-2 in Summit League play. They led by only 1 point (32-31) at the half, but pushed that lead to 58-45 in the 3rd quarter. They shot 63% in the second half. Anna Trusty scored 18 points and grabbed a team high 7 rebounds. Katyten Donley also scored in double-figures with 13 points. We are all disappointed with the results on the men's side, but these ladies are a joy to watch.

Tonight will be an interesting game to watch - even if it is on "the Deuce" (Midco's new branding, Midco Two). Hannah Coons returns to her old stomping ground and continues to increase her minutes on the court. Will that continue?? Injuries continue to rack up and will be changing the player rotations of who is on the floor.

All those that tune in should be in for a good game. May the best team win (and we know who the best team is).

Tough game tonight. We should've been a lot closer, or even won the game. A terrible third quarter, missed layups and free throws. Hopefully we will do better next game.

The crowd was incredible. I found out it was an AAU group, JYD, that had over 400 there.

ORU WBB should blow out NAIA foe OKWU at 7 PM tonight in the MC. Since OKWU is just down the road in Bartlesville, they might have almost as many fans at the game as we do. I hope I'm wrong and lots of ORU fans will show up. These ladies are doing well and they deserve our support. Unfortunately, Carol and I have to watch it on TV.
