College Station, TX—Oral Roberts standout Jack Whitt (Norman, OK) continued to add to his resume this weekend, as the 6’4†sophomore earned a third place finish in the men’s pole vault at the NCAA Championships in College Station, Texas.

Whitt’s 5.45m score matched fourth place Nate Polacek of Nebraska, and came in just shy of the 5.50m scores of #2 Ben Peterson (Minnesota) and #1 Scott Roth (Washington).

The 5.45m is also the best of the season for Whitt, and fourth best overall as recorded in the Track and Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS). Whitt’s personal best was a 5.50m score on January 15, 2010 at the Wichita State Invitational.

ORU track and field will open up the outdoor season on Saturday, March 19 at the Tulsa Duels hosted by the University of Tulsa.
