Obi Emegano's draft potential

The Tulsa World talks about about OU, OSU, and TU draft prospects, but nothing about Obi Emegano's (not surprised). Unless Obi has been granted a 6th year, what can anyone share about his prospects of even being picked in the upcoming draft?

Overseas is more probable than the NBA, so I would tend to agree with you, Old Titan. Without knowing Obi personally, he seems nice enough. BB-wise, he's more offensive oriented than anything else. Other than the TU game (brilliant job), Obi, like many of his teammates was inconsistent at times. Can't do that in the NBA. Obi's shooting improved this year, and may be even better now with the draft coming up. At the same time there were no 40 or 50-point games, no stretches when he was unstoppable at the collegiate level. Another year in college might help; however that does not appear to be the case. Sad: another improved year might have gotten Obi All-American consideration.

It's a crime Obi did not receive more recognition locally, regionally, and nationally for his outstanding overall play his senior season.

But, that's the price one pays for being on a 14-17 team that finishes seventh in conference play...

Obi should get an invite to play on a NBA Summer League team. If he plays good enough he might find himself in training camp. He has the talent to do it. Maybe he will go the D-League route?

Obi had a phenomenal senior season, and he's an excellent player with a great basketball mind. He just doesn't have the size/quickness. Realistically, he's on the short side of NBA PG's, and doesn't have the quickness to create space for himself. Can you imagine Obi trying to contain guys like Russell Westbrook, Isaiah Thomas, Chris Paul?

Obi will make a lot of money in Europe and continue to make ORU proud.

At the Summit League D1 level he could still drive to the basket, and that threat to drive opened up some 3 point shots for him.  However, if he was 3-4 inches taller he would have received more attention concerning the draft.  With 3-4 more inches in height, he might have led the NCAA in scoring.  However, what a great player he was for ORU over his last 3 years.  He will definitely be missed.

Yeah, Obi is likely destined for Europe where a guy like him can make some serious money.....no way he was getting drafted.....but I did see where Kay Felder of Oakland went to the Atlanta Hawks in the 2nd round....so ORU won't have to worry about defending him when we play the Grizz next season....:eagles:

apparently he was in the building last night.  i wonder if he went on his own for the experience or if a team told him there was a chance he would be picked.

But the night didn’t have a dream ending for all 18 hopefuls in the stands. Gracin Bakumanya, a Congo native playing in France, Obi Emegano, from Oral Roberts University, and Cat Barber of North Carolina State left undrafted.

When guys like Ron Baker and Fred VanVleet of Wichita State, or Thomas Walkup of Stephen F. Austin go undrafted, you gotta think your chances are kinda slim.

But, that's cool that he was there - hope he had a good time nonetheless.

TheEagleman has to think that an NBA team will sign Obi for the Las Vegas Summer League.....if he performs well that could catch the eye of several other participating teams and you never know....he could wind up in the D-League like Damon Bell-Holter or if not sign with a European League team.....Obi definitely has some skills. Too bad he's not a couple inches taller.....

Ryan Archidiacano the 6-3 guard from Villanova just signed a FA contract with the San Antonio Spurs...now don't get me wrong, TheEagleman loves the grit and determination of Archidiacano but if a slow kid like that can get a pro contract then surely Obi will get a shot somewhere.....Emegano was after all the 8th leading scorer in the nation last season.....
