oruvoice
I am fairly sure Missouri State is on the schedule. Just one game this year. At Mabee Center.
theeagleman5
Thought it was mentioned that that we were also signed to play at Michigan State as part of the Oakland trip......
ORUalum
at Missouri St Quote Who’s on tap The staff is still working on lining up opponents to fill out the schedule, but there are several games that are known. Valparaiso and Oral Roberts will come to JQH Arena, and the Bears will visit Southeast Missouri State.

theeagleman5
TheEagleman likes Oakland's schedule....maybe ORU can get some games vs. Goshen, SUU, Robert Morris and Chicago State????....we need games against beatable opponents early in the season...... ORUalum
OU and TU game dates....
Old Titan
Playing TU on the Monday following Thanksgiving is a FANTASTIC date for a home game - students are in town, no competition with college football, or grandma's cooking, or traveling over-the-river-&-through-the-woods to/from said grandma, etc.
theeagleman5
Nice looking schedule so far for ORU including the date for the TU game...looks like we finally did some thinking and got it right.....now what we need is some decent and winnable home games in November/December.....so our young team doesn't get beaten down by those difficult road match ups.....it would be a surprise if we can even win one game in that Virgin Islands tournament..... EagleManiac
Very impressive non-conference slate for TU. Wish we had that kind of money.

Those home games cost TU something no doubt, but their schedule may also be the result of having several former head coaches on their staff - lots of connections within the coaching fraternity. Curious to see how ORU's scheduling fares in the next few years, depending on who they hire (have hired?) this summer as new assistants. ORUalum
if i had to guess, the Jacksonville, New Orleans, and Texas State are the games TU will not be making (or has made) a return trip to their gym. ORU gets Oakland on the home slate next year. with the renewal of the rivalry and the return of Stevie Clark to OK, that should be a good draw. i agree with OT on the date of the Mayor's Cup. they seem to have worked out an ideal date. now, will the public return to the game in big numbers? oruvoice
I'd like to see "up-campus administration/alumni department" make a special effort to get ALL current students and local alumni to this game. Maybe do a "White-Out" promotion. I know a local company and ORU athletics sponsor that could make them a good deal on the t-shirts... I'm assuming this is the first of a multi-year deal, with ORU hosting in 2017? Just hope ORU can play better in Springfield this season than the past couple of years, when they got throttled by mediocre teams.
Old Titan
In case you were wondering: the Summit League schedule came out last year on July 14th, so we should be seeing the 2016-17 conference slate in the next 2-3 weeks. ORU opened the season last year at IPFW (loss) and closed it at Omaha and South Dakota State (both losses), so here's hoping the schedule reverses this year and the Golden Eagles open and close at home.
