theeagleman5 Posted January 16, 2016 Share Posted January 16, 2016 The big question about WIU is....How the heck did they manage to win at Wisconsin?.....these guys are 7-8 but have lost 6 in a row after a 7-2 start....all 6 of those losses have been by 7 points or less....but all of their wins save Wisconsin have been against cupcakes......bottom line?....at this point, the Leathernecks stink....in fact, TheEagleman finds it insulting that the early line in Vegas has this game as EVEN.....this is just a game that ORU should flat out win....if we lose....then WE stink......in watching most of the IUPUI game I came to the conclusion that we have a pretty decent team when we play some defense.....and we have at least 5-6 guys who can score the basketball....if we just play decent defense and hold teams under 75 we can win a lot of Summit League games....WIU won't score 75 on Saturday night unless the game goes OT.....the Leathernecks play a lot of close games so this likely won't be a blowout but ORU does enough to get back to .500 in league play with an 81-73 victory in Macomb...... ORUalum Posted January 16, 2016 Share Posted January 16, 2016 WIU is desperate for a league win just like ORU was a few games ago. i really expect a dog fight up there tonight. a victory would be huge for the good guys to get back to .500. things do not get any easier with conference favorite SDSU coming to Tulsa next week. theeagleman5 Posted January 17, 2016 Author Share Posted January 17, 2016 TheEagleman is 3 for 3 today in Summit action thanks to small plays on IPFW +8.5 (outright win at Omaha)....IUPUI -3.5 crushing Denver and NDSU +2 beating SDSU outright ..,,when you can get the Bison plus points at home it's a steal...... Now I just need ORU +1.5 tonight to make it a Summit sweep for the day....I like our chances....it won't be easy but I like ORU....we have the gleam back....no reason why we shouldn't send WIU to a 7th loss in a row....plus Coach Sutton will be sporting the plaid jacket again tonight in Macomb..... theeagleman5 Posted January 17, 2016 Author Share Posted January 17, 2016 Another 2nd half burst for ORU....46-30 we outscore WIU in the 2nd and Obi is our only guy in double figures....but 9 guys scored....that's impressive on the road....and we only had 10 turnovers and outrebound the opposition again....good D and board work will do it every time....77-68 ORU so we are another outright dog winner for TheEagleman....3 dogs win outright in the Summit today....ORU now 11-9 and 3-3 in league play....bring on the Jacks!....time to buy a case of Old Milwaukee..... Especially considering the youth on this team, and that 2 of the 3 were on the road.
