ORU at Denver

ORU traveling to the Mile High city for a battle of bottom dwellers in the Summit League....we have lost 6 in a row but Denver is also on a losing streak of 4...very similar season to ours...they started off at 8-3 but have now dropped to 8-7....the Pioneers are not much of a scoring team so it's not likely that we will give up 90+ tonight....Denver has only hit the 80 mark once and average just 64 per game.....their leading scorer averages just 13....however, TheEagleman can't ignore the following equation......No D + No Obi = another loss....unlikely our top scorer can go tonight and that's huge....probably the difference in this game because if #15 were playing I would feel good about ending the streak....but not without our leader Obi....Denver is a 3.5 point favorite and despite their recent slump I am tempted to go with the home team.....Denver won't get 90 tonight but I expect they will get the win......Denver 85  ORU 77....the streak goes on.....and on...and on.....

anyone know if Obi made the trip?  monday night it sounded doubtful that they would even take him to Denver.

they have to win tonight.....right?  someone give me a little hope that things get figured out and back on track.

Something has to go our way at some point. Hopefully we can turn things around tonight, though it'll be tough at elevation and without Obi..

love ORU's lineup tonight (of course w/the exception of not having Obi)....more length/athleticism.  hope we see a better performance at the defensive end.

Young, Anderson, Jeffries, Conley, Owens

good news -- not going to give up 90+ tonight;  bad news -- 14 TOs

nice win for the ladies over SD :clap::clap::clap::clap:

ORU made it exciting at the end....but the streak lives on.

ORU shoots 55.6%, out rebounds 32-19, but were done in by the 20 turnovers

....would have been easy to throw in the towel; at least they fought until the end.

Encouraged by the fight down the stretch.

Will be interesting to see how things go Saturday night, with NDSU no doubt looking to atone for last year's debacle in Tulsa.

Sure hope Obi can play, and is at least close to his usual self.

Tough loss....TheEagleman was following the game and thought we were out of it but the boys battled back and had a chance to tie at the end.....but 7 losses in a row is very hard to take...those weren't the Golden State Warriors we've played in the last 3 games and now ORU is 0-3 and at the bottom of the Summit League....Saturday night is a huge game with 2 more following on the road....if we start the league year 0-6....well, need I say more?....we need Obi to have a shot against NDSU....last night's line jumped way up right before tip off to 7.5 and with the over/under at just 137...TheEagleman teased ORU with the over and cleaned up.....the small early bet on Denver was a loss but so be it....This ORU team seems to be playing hard but 20 turnovers???....amazing with a 3 or 4 guard offense.....how do you lose on the road when you shoot 52% and outrebound Denver by double digits??....yeah, those TOs were a killer.....let's pray for a quick Obi return!....

Seven losses in a row and 0-3 in the Summit is a hard pill to swallow. Only got to listen to Geoff for a few minutes last night, but encouraged to hear they fought hard right until the end. At least we kept them under 90.

It was really painful to watch on TV.  The offense is just so out of sync without Obi - and the turnovers are the ultimate outcome.  We were decent on defense, but they hit several uncontested threes in the final three seconds of the shot clock.  When the clock runs down, you don't have to sag back to protect the shooter from driving to the basket - they are going to shoot!

Denver is not a good team, but you can't give an opponent so many extra chances, and they were excellent from the charity stripe.  If we weren't shooting lights out from three (thank you, AY) it would've been downright ugly.

Really tough to lose Obi for this stretch of very winnable games...

By the way, SDSU lost on the road to IUPUI and suddenly-first-place Omaha broke NDSU's 31-game home court win streak, just in case anybody was wondering if the schedule is going to get any easier.

On the bright side, IF we make the conference tournament, we currently have the inside track at one of those Saturday 1st round games. So, there's that.
