Tough turn around for both teams today....FIU held on to beat UT-Martin by 7 last night while ORU whipped host JMU....TheEagleman thinks we have enough left in the tank to finish the road trip with a 3-1 record...Obi leads the way again and ORU defeats FIU today 77-69......:P

This is a mental test as much as it is physical. Third game in three days. The shots may not fall with tired legs. Gotta play tough defense and grab rebounds. FIU is long and athletic.

I like that we had 15 assists on 23 total made baskets. That tells me we are unselfish. We need to keep that up.

This team knows how to gut out a win. This will come in handy come tourney time. I know it's early but this team seems special.

Great win for ORU who wins the JMU tournament with a 3-0 record....76-70 in OT coming from double digits down in the first half....we overcome 38% shooting thanks to 23 by Obi and 21 and 8 rebs for Owens....Conley comes off the bench with 12....ORU is 4-1 and TheEagleman is thrilled!.....

Tough win from the guys. With all of the momentum headed the other way, they come out and pull through with a great win. Very excited about this team after this weekend.

Wasn't listening, but looks from the stats that "fouling-up-3-late- instead-of-giving-up-a-3" didn't quite work out as FIU misses the second free throw and scores off the offensive rebound to force overtime. But, love the quick start in OT; very impressive for a young team struggling on offense today. Great win, great showing on the road all three games.

ORU at 4-1 is just one of many fast starts for Summit teams so far this season. The league as a whole is something like 25-10 for the year. Keep that up through December, and it will bide very well for the conference tournament champion when the NCAA seeds come out.

Gutsy win by a young team. They did what they had to do - even when shots weren't falling. They demonstrated mental toughness after falling behind - and again after FIU forced overtime. Impressive for a young team.

ORU got outshot percentage wise but took more shots because they limited turnovers to only five (!!) and matched FIU in rebounds at 41. Free throws (20 of 26) vs (12 of 18) was the difference. ORU was apparently the more aggressive or disciplined team.

Obi played all 45 minutes. We need to find a way to give him rest or he is going to wear out.

Didn't notice that he played all 45 minutes. Playing that amount of minutes can be dangerous, especially on the third day of a tough back to back to back.

Well....the good news is that we can probably beat Tabor without Obi playing at all.....he needs a break....hopefully, Coach Sutton has him on the floor for under 20 minutes on Wednesday night....4-1 is starting to sink in....that's a start that TheEagleman didn't see coming.....by the way...we must have drained James Madison last night....UT-Martin beat the Dukes in the tournament finale this afternoon, 78-75.... ..;)

So......ORU finishes the tournament 3-0 and the other 3 teams all went 1-2.....TheEagleman expected more out of James Madison but the Dukes came up small at home....FIU could have won all 3 of their games losing to the hosts by just 3 and to ORU in OT.....with our next two games at home....the Golden Eagles have a great shot to be 6-1 heading into what will be a very tough December....I know....one game at a time.....but this ORU team is scrappy and never seems to give up....we have a lot of heart to go with improved guard play...and Owens is playing the best center we've seen at ORU in a few years.......:)
