Old Titan
IT'S. NEVER. TOO. EARLY. Especially when they're talking about your team: last week Jerry Palm had ORU as a #16 playing #1 Gonzaga in Spokane; now he has them as a #15 taking on #2 Wisconsin in Columbus: new bracket http://t.co/24Vd3EfrTb— Jerry Palm (@jppalmCBS) January 19, 2015 And, I love this particular response from a guy in Chicago, among the many fans who sound off whenever Palm (or others like him) tweet their projections: @jppalmCBS ORU moves back to Summit ... after 2-year Southland conference experiment ... to get back to NCAA BB tourney??— Greg Beat (@beatgr) January 19, 2015 A quick look at The Bracket Matrix, though, shows North Dakota State still the overwhelming consensus to represent the Summit League; appearing on 37 different bracket sites as anything from a play-in #16 to a #13. ORU is the pick in just five brackets listed on the site, while South Dakota State is the choice in 13 other projections. But, whoever does the College Sports Madness bracket either hasn't done their homework, or is just plain stubborn: they still have preseason-favorite Denver making the dance... ORUTex
Interesting. I think those are definitely the top 3 contenders right now. The Massey Ratings composite of 45 rankings systems has South Dakota State as the best team in the Summit, at #139. ND State is next at 167, and we're right behind at 168. Denver is next at 206, so a road win there on Wednesday would be nice. http://www.masseyratings.com/cb/compare.htm
