Beautiful broadcast on ESPN3. Everything looked very polished and professional. Of course the win made it even better!

very clean graphics....if ORU designed them and they aren't packaged by ESPN....very well done on ORU's part.

I thought it was great! I watched through Amazon Fire and it may of been just my connection, but at one point the audio was lagging behind the on screen action....other than that it was way better than FCS broadcasts

Great points all.

Not a pretty game by any stretch of the imagination, but a couple of streaks by Webber in the first half and Word in the second half, intertwined with the overall play of Billbury and Emegano, were enough to keep a lackluster TU team from ever taking charge of the game.

A few other random thoughts:

The "Titans" warm-up shirts were a sweet touch - wonder where you can buy one of those?

Decent crowd, but for a variety of reasons still nothing like it should be.  Didn't help that a.) basketball season literally hasn't even started yet, and b.) OSU football was in Stillwater and on the tube.

Just plain silly to play this game to start the season.  For one thing, the two teams played far from anything like what they will be in even two weeks, much less two months.  Referees were just as rusty:  60 fouls?  They weren't ready-for-prime-time either, though the trio of Sanzere, Oglesby and Beaver is a veteran crew with tons of Big 10, Missouri Valley and Horizon League experience under the belts, not to mention multiple NCAA games.  As I watch the replay on KGEB, it's obvious that many of their calls were simply anticipation errors that will be corrected in the coming weeks.

Promotions were good, band sounded good, Maniacs however were disappointing.  The "TU Sucks" chant was embarrassing - why disparage the team you are beating?  Just denegrates the achievement (and sets a terrible example for the visiting fans, who are always looking for new reasons to complain about ORU).

Great coaching job by the ORU staff.  Never seen Scott Sutton so laid-back for a TU game.  I think his confidence rubbed off on the players.  The switch to zone was a master stroke, and STICKING WITH IT showed a level of commitment from the coaches that was heretofore missing.  Still, it was funny how Scott seemed almost apologetic in the post-game interview about using it so much.  C'mon, Coach:  embrace the 2-3!  Also, the little half court trap was a nice diversion to keep the TU guards on their heels.  The substitution pattern was also impressive; kept puching the buttons on players to find the hot hands.

As for the X's and O's, ORU still does not have a point guard.  I realize Jabbar looks the part physically, but his ball handling, passing, free throw shooting, and decision making are all suspect.  Obi should have closed out the game with about a dozen free throws, but he never got the ball!  Looks like it will be "by committee" for at least the time being.  But will not be able to get away  with the 4-guard line-up many more times in the non-conference schedule.

Korey Billbury is the best rebounding guard ORU has had since Clifford Crenshaw or maybe even Anthony Roberts.  Uncannhy knack for positioning himself for the offside rebound, both offensively and defensively.

Obi was only about 80% tonight and was still the smartest guy in the room.  Quietest 26 points I've ever seen; could have had 30+ with a couple more calls and free throws.  Very sublime effort from him tonight.

All the big men did some great things tonight, except Conley.  1 point and 5 fouls?  Has to play smarter and better!  Owens is growing by leaps and bounds already. Unlike the other "first-years" Harris and Lee, Owens looked like he belonged, both physically andf mentally.

Frank Haith and his staff of "previously-fired-D1-coaches" got outcoached tonight.  With all their size and length, no reason for TU to play zone against ORU.  Slowed the game down to ORU's advantage on both ends.

As for the TU message board, there's just nothing more entertaining if you are into schadenfreude.  Having a TU basketball fan say that the Maniacs were classless is like having Rosie O'Donnell say you're fat and ugly.  Look in a mirror much?

Good analysis OT. I too was embarrassed with the TU chant by the maniacs, but I am old-school and that term at the end of the chant was not a good thing to say back in the day.

By the way, If we are going to keep Homecoming in the fall, schedule a nice D-I game. I understand the not scheduling TU argument, but for the alums like myself coming in, it was nice to have a team other than some obscure school from nowhere.

Oy....

this makes ZERO sense.

and the following year.....Homecoming 2016 will be in September and feature a football intramural scrimmage by Youngblood.

i get moving to the fall for better weather, but an exhibition game for homecoming is something not even a high school would do.

Obviously not the Athletic Department's fault. The fact that we can even schedule an exhibition game that early is remarkable. I saw this at a meeting several weeks ago and told the Alumni Department it was a mistake. Their response was total indifference. They don't get it.

Stupid is as stupid does.

WOW, that has to be one of the most bone-headed moves of all time! What a way to kill alumni support. Have alumni come in from all over and then don't showcase the biggest sport on campus. I hold degrees from several well known universities including ORU. None of the others would even think of doing something that idiotic. Pathetic, absolutely pathetic!

I made my feelings known pretty emphatically - and was met by total apathy/indifference. Is anyone on the message board involved with the Alumni BOD? I might get on line and voice my displeasure.
