Old Titan
As I watch Oklahoma State's defense being run all over the place (this time by West Virginia) on Screen #1, and TCU-Texas Tech putting up xBox-type numbers on Screen #2, I found the following on Screen #3 (my laptop): ORU Basketball Picked First in Summit League by NBC Sports/Sports Illustrated (NBCSports.com) Lots of "Newness" For Summit League (McDonough County Voice, Macomb, IL) Some interesting quotes from Scott Sutton: Obi experiencing some lingering knee issues? No Clear Men's Favorite in Summit (Argus Leader, Sioux Falls, SD) Also learned this past week there won't be any form of Blue-White scrimmage, or student event featuring inter-squad play, or anything of the kind this season; just the two exhibition games on Nov. 3rd and 8th before opening the season with TU on the 15th. So, am I being "negative" to admit that news comes as a disappointment?

Old Titan
I was not able to attend the Courtside Countdown Tuesday night - anyone have a report?
MrsSmith
The courtside countdown was wonderful. I always enjoy getting to meet a player or coach at our table. Brent Price was very enjoyable and had a lot of wisdom to share. Much appreciation goes to Chris & Debbie Vandenhende (Event chairmen) and Debbie Gimlin (GEC) for all of their hard work.
TrueBlue82
A guy from Syracuse.com is posting a day-by-day countdown of the projected seeds in the 2015 NCAA Tournament in the 16 days prior to the opening game of the 14-15 season. From what I've read, his analysis is pretty decent - and his post on the second day (of the 15 seeds) especially caught my eye: Oral Roberts Last year's record: 17-16 (10-8 Southland) Last NCAA appearance: 2008 Why Oral Roberts? A fabulous backcourt with Obi Emegano and Korey Billbury is a good place for the Golden Eagles to start. Emegano is coming off a torn ACL from early last season, and now that he's healthy he should help make Oral Roberts' return to the Summit League after a two-year stay in the Southland Conference a productive one. Three of coach Scott Sutton's top four scorers return this year, and all of them are sophomores and juniors. Time is on Oral Roberts' side to re-establish itself as a postseason regular. If not the Eagles from the Summit, then maybe … IPFW. The Summit is a sneaky-good league, in part because it has several well-run programs. Yet so many of them — notably Denver, North Dakota State and South Dakota State — lost their best players, their coach or both after last year. It could be a transition year in the Summit, though IPFW does bring back three of its top six players from a 25-11 team. It might be able to finish.
