Old Titan Posted October 3, 2014 Share Posted October 3, 2014 Just learned that today is the last day at ORU for Rob Walden, Assistant Director of Media Relations for ORU Athletics. Rob is leaving for a similar position at the University of Houston in the American Athletic Conference. Rob has done a great job the past few seasons handling volleyball, women's basketball, tennis, and the occasional baseball radio broadcast. His departure, though, comes at a terrible time of year, with volleyball in full swing and women's basketball just around the corner. Coupled with the lack of an ORU beat writer at the Tulsa World, Misti Cussen's girls may have a hard time getting much local publicity until Rob's replacement is determined. ORUalum Posted October 3, 2014 Share Posted October 3, 2014 big loss for ORU, but like ORUTerry said, i'm sure it's a very good move for Rob. i really enjoyed his call of ORUWBB games when there was a scheduling conflict for Hax. Blake Freeland, Rob and Eric Scott have done a great job with providing content for ORU fans --- post game interviews on youtube, next day infographics, tons of stuff on social media, etc. those guys are top notch!
