BlueGold
Well, the road wasn't kind to the ladies tonight as Denver sweeps 25-17, 25-12, 25-14. The stats as you would expect on the ORU side were major ugly. Laura Milos had eight kills to lead the team but hit for a negative percentage overall when her ten attack errors are factored in. Shelby Cox had a nice match on the attack with seven kills and only one error but she had only ten total attempts. It's the team's worst performance of the season. I am a little perturbed and maybe it sounds like major whining when I think that we had to play this match after playing yesterday at South Dakota. And that was after we played at home on Friday last week. Three matches in four days in conference. So we played an evening match at home on Friday, traveled to South Dakota on Saturday, played there on Sunday, traveled to Denver on Sunday then played tonight at Denver. This is the only time during the entire Summit conference schedule in 2014 that a team has had to or will have to play conference matches on consecutive days. And both were on the road for the Eagles. Every other team has had or will have at least one day off in between matches during conference play. Not saying we wouldn't have stunk with an extra day off, but when you have a disadvantage like this and it possibly contributes to a sluggish performance and a loss, it matters because one loss as opposed to a win could mean the difference in the race for the postseason conference tournament and seeding in said tournament if you qualify. Anyway, ORU is now 7-9 on the season and 1-2 in the Summit. Next up: IUPUI this Sunday, October 5th at 1pm CT at the Aerobics Center. Go Eagles!!
