Mabee Center: 20 Worst in the Country?

I did get a good laugh when they ranked Ohio State's new arena as 99th, especially after the obscene amount of money Ohio State dumped into that facility.

This list is so ridiculous, it doesn't even warrant outrage.

They have TU's DonRey Center just a few notches above the Mabee Center, while the pitiful on-campus "gyms" at Incarnate Word, Chicago State and UMKC are ALL ranked higher.

There's also an obvious Lone Star State bias, with cavernous Erwin Center at Texas, Reed Arena at Texas A&M, and Farrell Center at Baylor ALL making the Top 25.

They've even got the mammoth Thompson-Boling Center at Tennessee, THE poster child for college basketball arena excess, in the Top 50.  That's a joke!

This is typical internet crap; worth the price of the paper on which it's (not) written.

My guess is the availability of beer weighed heavy in the rankings. Seems Bad arena with beer > better arena without

While Mabee Center might not be the best arena with regards to the "college basketball experience"....TheEagleman has to say it's one of the most comfortable places that I have ever watched basketball and there is not a bad seat in the house......just wished that the lower seats were closer to the floor but this is what happens when you build a "multi purpose building" which Mabee Center was back in 1972......for comparison....take a top 40 building The Palestra (Penn) in Philly where TheEagleman has been to dozens of games....it's a great college basketball experience and good sightlines close to the floor but it's all benches and after a game you feel like you need to go visit a chiropractor......plus parking is brutal and there aren't enough spots but the ones that are there you will pay $20 for......I would take Mabee Center every day of the week and twice on Sundays..... :nerd:

Something called the GB Hodge Center is ranked ahead of Cameroon Indoor. Not sure anything else needs to be said about that list.
