A senior in 2014-15, she should sign this November during the early period.  She's a 5'9" guard, a scorer, can shoot the three and get to the hoop.  2014 4A Oklahoma First Team All-State selection.  The article cited below offers more details about her decision to commit to ORU.

Anadarko guard Ashley Beatty verbally committed to Oral Roberts University on Saturday, putting to rest her recruiting as the school year gets underway.

“I don’t have to worry about getting a scholarship or anything,†she said. “I can just go out and play.â€

Beatty said she chose ORU after spending time with the coaching staff, along with her love for the campus and chance to continue her Christian faith.

“I’ve never met a better staff than them,†she said. “That’s what won me over was the staff. You just don’t meet better people than that and I felt really at home there.â€

Beatty averaged 21.9 points per game last season for the Warriors, leading them to the Class 4A championship game.

the article mentions her sister at OSU.  her bio on okstate.com states that she considered ORU out of high school.  maybe she will transfer next year to ORU and play with her little sister.  it does not look like she saw much court time in her freshman campaign.

Eagleman, that would be sweet, we can only hope that she could come close to what Kevi did at ORU.

And thanks ORUalum for mentioning Ashley's sister Lakota.  I left that part out.  Only 63 minutes played in 11 games last season at OSU.  You never know.  Both of them are young ladies of strong faith and are really good players.  As ORUJason mentioned, the types of players and people that fit perfectly at ORU.

Another great recruit for ORU. Can never have enough scorers. And she is a great fit for the mission of ORU. Welcome to the ORU family Ashley!

Oh boy.

I don't know what's going on at OSU but their program has taken some serious hits in the last couple of weeks:

March 27- Sophomore Brianne Coffman decided to transfer to Houston;

April 2- Assistant coach Richie Henderson, who was one of their key recruiters, left the staff and it's not clear publicly why;

April 4- Amber Ramirez, who is ranked in the top 20 in her class at point guard/shooting guard, decommitted and reopened her recruiting.  It likely coincides with Coach Henderson leaving.

April 10- Sophomore starting point guard Roshunda Johnson decided to transfer;

April 11- Redshirt sophomore guard Brittany Atkins, who started 13 of 14 games before an injury ended her season, decided to transfer;

April 14- Lakota decides to leave the program.

This makes 4 of their top 5- and 5 of their top 7- scorers from this year's team that will not be returning due to graduation or transfers.  Yikes.

Anyway, I hope Lakota ends up in a good place, she deserves it, she's done all of the right things while at OSU and has her heart in the right place.

Been lurking on some other boards since Lakota announced she is leaving OSU, and the prevailing thought is that she will end up at ORU. It isn't a shock that people that follow OSU's program and know that Ashley is coming here would think that. But then there's one post I saw that may be less conjecture and more grounded in reality... a radio personality, who was noted in a post I saw as being an employee of OSU, mentioned on a radio show that Lakota wants to play with her sister at ORU.

It would be great if she ultimately ended up here. She's a former Oklahoma Player of the Year and is obviously good enough to have been offered and played/started at a Big 12 school. She's got excellent character and is a strong Christian young woman, and you also can't dismiss the positives that having her play with Ashley and to have them be together in college would bring.

Would a player announce that she was not returning to a school, or transfer, if she didn't have an idea about where she wanted to go, or where she would end up? I guess that's possible, but to me, as a fairly conservative person that likes to have things planned out and doesn't care much for unknowns, I would want to know or have a very good idea about where I was going to end up if I made a big decision to change like this.

All the best to her, I hope she ends up with what she wants and ends up where she wants to be.

I can't imagine ANYONE would think playing here would be any better.  I hope they are prepared to not be allowed to go home over the summer!
