Marcus Lewis Update

Marcus Lewis was named MVP for the day on May 16th. He is playing for UCAM-Mucia in the ABC League - which I think is a Spanish League, although there are lot of Italian looking  named players.

Marcus started for the Thunder on Monday vs. Brooklyn, scoring 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting, with 3 steals, 3 assists, and 1 rebound.

And, went totally ignored in the postgame releases from the Thunder PR machine, which instead chose to gush about first-round draft pick Mitch McGary (who did have a solid 18-point, 13-rebound effort).

Marcus has really suprised TheEagleman by turning into a very solid professional player......he always seems to be a bit lazy at ORU but seems to have stepped up his game....hard to believe that the guy can't find a job at the end of a bench on a team like my Philadelphia 76ers....heck, he could probably make our 10 man rotation..... :nerd:

And, just like that, the release has been updated:

Eight Former Summit League Players Competing in NBA Summer Leagues

Has a nice little blurb in there about M-Dot.  They're also mentioning him now on Twitter:

Count of former #SummitMBB players playing in NBA Summer Leagues now up to eight. Recently learned of Keith Benson and Marcus Lewis.

Lewis (@ORUAthletics, '08-09), is playing for OKC Thunder. He is averaging 4.3 ppg, 1.3 rpg and 2.0 spg & apg w/ 1 start. #SummitMBB

that Benson & Hamilton Oakland team was a really good mid-major.   seems like Oakland has been scuffling since losing those two
