A Statistic: Dominique Morrison has an absurd offensive rating in 156 during conference play. The Schedule: at Western Illinois Thursday; at IUPUI Saturday."

IF and that's a big IF, we can buckle down this week and sweep WIU & IUPUI, we have a LEGIT shot at getting to 20-4 after the next homestand.

IF the guys don't have a lapse on the road this week, we REALLY set ourselves up for some BIG things this season. Bracketbuster TV spot, #1 seed in the tourney, and IF we do make the NCAA tourney...a chance to REALLY improve our seed and give ourselves a WINNABLE game in the Big Dance. A 12-13 seed INFINITELY improves our chances over a 14-15 seed.

Keep focused, play our game, and this could a really special finish to what has already been a great season!!!

Gotta think there is a let down somewhere on the road. You hope not but there may be a dud in there somewhere.
I almost made it at ORU walkon tryouts....

Indeed. It is good to see ORU on this list, and hopefully the coaches voting in the CollegeInsider.com Mid-Major Top 25 follow suit when it is updated later today. It is a shame that ORU hasn't gone past the "Receiving Votes" yet in that poll.

I've always thought that the Mid-Major Top 25 was as much a coach-on-coach popularity contest as anything else. There have been too many times when teams that didn't deserve to be in it stayed in it and teams that DID deserve to be in it weren't.

I'm not saying that I wouldn't be happy if we made it in, I'm just saying that it's a poor objective indication of the best twenty five mid-major teams.

Oh yeah, I know. Winning on the road is tough. WIU, SDSU, NDSU, and even SUU & IUPUI could cause problems.

But, this teams SEEMS to be a pretty tough bunch. Mature. Experienced. Tough. Like a bunch of sausage makers!

ORU should be higher than #20 in the Mid Major poll....and why aren't we playing Wichita State on a regular basis?....an annual game with the Shockers seems like a no-brainer.... :nerd:

up 2 spots to #11...LINK

Base Blocks
11. Oral Roberts (16-4). A Sentence: Golden Eagles are already halfway (8-0) to going undefeated in the Summit. A Statistic: Dominique Morrison is in the top 10 percent in minutes played, offensive rating, usage, effective field goals and free-throw rate. Only Murray State’s Isaiah Canaan shares that distinction. The Schedule: vs. IUPU Fort Wayne Thursday; vs. Oakland Saturday.

I thought you already sold your soul to the devil, Eagleman?!? HA!

Just saw our RPI...currently 44. And, Lunardi has moved us up to a 12 seed in his most recent bracket. Which doesn't mean a whole lot, but we are getting some respect.

Got to keep on winning!!!

If ORU could get a 12 seed....heck, we would have a very decent shot at winning our first NCAA game since 1974......geez, TheEagleman hadn't even turned 20 yet......and it was even pre-MrsEagleman 1.....those were the days living on Five Yellow..... :nerd:

7. Oral Roberts (18-4). A Sentence: Tearing through the Summit, when it was Oakland or South Dakota State, by most, who was expected to win the league. A Statistic: the Golden Eagles’ offense is operating a clip it never has in the KenPom era prior to this season. With an adjusted efficiency of 112.7 points per 100 possessions, ORU has become one of the most potent “mid-major” scoring teams, and it’s led by Dominique Morrison, who scores a scorching 1.26 PPP. Spicy. The Schedule: vs. South Dakota, Thursday; vs. Missouri-Kansas City, Saturday.

ORU is movin' on up!....might get to the next row if we are 20-4 next week and and some of the other teams lose.......what an amazing team this ORU squad has become over the past 5 weeks..... :nerd:

7. Oral Roberts (20-4). A Sentence: If ORU can manage to sweep the Dakota States this week, in all likelihood they’ll be No. 4 or 5 in next week’s rankings. A Statistic: Scott Sutton’s team has compiled quite the nice 14-game winning streak, and in those games, ORU is winning by an average of 12.1 points per game. Not barely skating by by any means.. The Schedule: at South Dakota, Thursday; at North Dakota State, Saturday.

9. Oral Roberts (20-4). A Sentence: I didn’t expect ORU to win on the road at both of the Dakota States, so they take a little tumble in the Pyramid. A Statistic: For as good as it is on offense, ORU is hampered defensively. Effectively, teams make more than 50 percent of their shots against them, including 36 percent of 3-pointers. The Schedule: vs. IUPUI, Thursday; vs. Western Illinois, Saturday.

8. Oral Roberts (23-5). A Sentence: If you can believe it, the first regular-season conference title should be wrapped up this week, when ORU beats IUPU Fort Wayne and wins the Summit. A Statistic: ORU is a top-15 KenPom team in effective field goal percentage, free-throw percentage, two-point percentage and block percentage. No one else is so elite in four offensive categories. This team is no joke whatsoever. The Schedule: at IUPU Fort Wayne, Wednesday; vs. Akron, Saturday.

Geez....read that sentence above and you would think that ORU is an offensive juggernaut....has this guy watched us play the last 4-5 games?.....it hasn't been pretty....so much for stats...... |(
