The OU website doesn't list their 2011-12 baseball schedule yet....but the thing that looks so awesome is that big box showing their final game of last season as a 7-0 loss to Oral Roberts.....oh, how sweet it is!..... ;-)
boys, we're gonna run the picket fence at 'em; now don't get caught watchin' the paint dry!....I know every thing there is to know about the greatest game ever played....

That was a sweet game, as well as the next game beating TCU. It's always sweet eliminating the host team at their ballpark. We've seen it three times now with Arkansas (2006), Nebraska (2008) and TCU (2011).

TheEagleman hopes that Gonzalez can recover mentally from his last 2 horrendous starts vs. TCU and Dallas Baptist....the kid has had to chew on those two bad outings for the past 4+ months.....

Oral Roberts' lineup will get an infusion of athleticism from its class. Third baseman/catcher Jose Trevino brings big righthanded power; he blasted 25 homers as a high school senior in Corpus Christi, tying the state home run record. Shortstop Nathan Goro was a key recruit for Wichita State two years ago, before transferring to Jefferson (Mo.) JC. He brings strong defensive skills and an improving bat. Tyler Coker and Kevin Cho bring speed and arm strength in the outfield, and both could hit at the top of the ORU lineup in 2012.

Great write-up. Glad to see that we're working the system and finding kids in Texas and Missouri and not just in CA/AZ (although Rob has a great pipeline with those coaches). The downside about a write-up like that by Baseball America is that you have to wait through Thanksgiving, Christmas and who-knows-how-many snowfalls before you get to see these guys play!! Can we fast-forward to February please??

ORU has some very good returning pitchers....if these new guys can add some pop to the lineup....this will be a very good team that should win the Summit again this year (what else is new?)...... :nerd:

i guess sunny has indeed gotten over his problem w/ORU...

While the Sooners have built annual rivalries with TCU and Arkansas, the addition or Oral Roberts to the regular season schedule is a first since 2004.
"I think the teams and the fans have enjoyed our midweek series with those quality opponents and regional rivals," said Golloway. "We are also excited to add Oral Roberts, who we have seen in the postseason the past couple of years, back to the slate."

That's very magnanomous of Sunny to schedule ORU......still, it's great to get two more quality opponents on the schedule in OU and WSU.....those games against the Shockers could be played in very brisk temperatures..... :nerd:

Updated the schedule at the beginning of this thread for OU and WSU. Hope Sunny has learned his lesson from the last termination of our series so that we can play a couple of times annually (before we beat them in a Regional, of course). :)

Won't happen anytime soon. Not only does OSU get along with ORU (we're beneath them as far as they are concerned), but Frank has been on the hot seat for the last few years and can't afford a loss to an OSU-alum coached team that could take his job.

I wondered who was going to be scheduled during the ORU's Summit League "bye" weekend (the hole left from Centenary's departure this year). La Tech will be a nice add to the schedule (which I have already done to the front part of this thread).

BTW, the schedules are out for UT-Arlington and TCU and we're not on their schedules. Hopefully we have some other regional opportunities to play around Tulsa.

THE NEW PHONE BOOK IS HERE!! THE NEW PHONE BOOK IS HERE!! I'M SOMEBODY!!

Seriously, the schedule was released today and has some great games. I just wish that we had more regional powers like TCU, DBU and other schools from Texas on the schedule, but looking forward to some nice, spring days at JLJ this Spring.
