Chance will still be with the AA Reading Phillies this year....probably middle relief again with maybe a spot start....he needs to get off to a good start if he wants a shot at moving up to AAA Lehigh Valley....Chapman is no spring chicken any more....he's now 27 yrs old..... :worried:
boys, we're gonna run the picket fence at 'em; now don't get caught watchin' the paint dry!....I know every thing there is to know about the greatest game ever played....

No spring chicken for Chance - but oh, to be 27 again . . . :mm:

Chance gets his first opportunity of the season in Game two friday night and threw a scoreless inning in a 7-5 Phillies win at Portland, ME.....Chappy gave up a hit and walked one batter...he also had one K....a decent start to a big season for Chapman if he's going to remain a part of the Phillies organization... :)

6 up and 6 down for Chance last night in a 4-1 Reading win....Chapman had 2 perfect innings and 2 Ks.....ERA for the season remains a lusty 0.00.....

Chance comes in and gets the final two outs in a 5-2 Reading Phillies win in Game 1 of a DH today...his first save of the season and recorded 1 K....Chappy's ERA remains 0.00....

Injuries in the Phila. Phillies bullpen have necessitated bringing up 3 guys from AAA Lehigh Valley and the trickle down effect has our guy Chance Chapman PROMOTED TO AAA Lehigh Valley for the first time!!!... ....he had a tough first outing giving up 3 runs (only 1 earned) but last night came in and pitched 1.1 scoreless innings....so Chappy is now an Iron Pig and they play out of Allentown, PA about 2 hrs north of Philly....TheEagleman will keep a watch on his progress....he could go back down when and if the Phillies bullpen gets healthy.... :geek:

Big performance by Chance last night as the Lehigh Valley Iron Pigs shut out the Pawtucket Red Sox by 3-0.....Chapman comes in and throws four innings of no hit, no walk, no run baseball...12 up and 12 down with 3 Ks.....he gets his first AAA win to go 1-0 with a 1.23 ERA....with another starter from the Iron Pigs called up by the Phillies yesterday(Vance Worley who shut out the Mets last night), Chance will have a lot of opportunity to pitch at Lehigh Valley and maybe even get a start or two due to all the call ups....great opportunity for the ORU kid.....

Chance has had an up and down week...after getting that first win last friday night he came on in the 10th inning of a tie game vs. Buffalo on Monday night and gave up a game losing 2 run bomb...Chappy took took the loss 6-4....last night he pitched a scoreless 9th inning in a 10-3 Iron Pig win....Chapman is now 1-1 with a 2.89 ERA.... :ugeek:

Chance got raked for 4 hits and 3 runs in a 2 inning stink yesterday at Columbus....the Iron Pigs lost 12-6 and Chapman's ERA balloons to 4.76....not looking good if he hopes to stay at the AAA level... :worried: :'(

Chance takes another losses getting hammered for 5 hits and 3 runs in 2.2 innings last Thursday night....the Iron Pigs lost at Toledo by 4-2 and Chapman's ERA balloons to 5.79....if this keeps up he'll be back at AA Reading fairly soon.... :'(

Chapman rebounded last night with 2 innings of scoreless relief in a 4-3 win for the Iron Pigs over Norfolk...Chance gave up only 1 hit and 1 walk and had 3 Ks....

Chapman gets the win in a 5-4 Iron Pigs victory in 11 over Scranton which is the Yankees AAA affiliate....Chance threw 2 scoreless innings to even his AAA record at 2-2 with a 4.50 ERA..... :D

A so-so week for Chance...he gave up two runs on two hits in a 2 inning stint last tuesday in a game the Iron Pigs lost at home vs Gwinnett(Georgia)....however last night he pitched an inning in a 10-2 Lehigh Valley victory vs. the Rochester Red Wings and gave up only 1 earned run....his ERA is at 4.71... :ugeek:

The Iron Pigs were on TV here in Philly Monday night and TheEagleman got an opportunity to see Chance pitch two scoreless innings in a 12-2 win at Gwinnett in Georgia....#27 looked very good giving up only 1 hit and 1 walk with 2 Ks....his ERA at the AAA level drops to 4.30....

Chance's last two outings in the past week for Lehigh Valley have been outstanding....he's pitched 4 scoreless innings with 5 Ks and only given up two hits....ERA down to 4.03 after topping 5.00 back in May....The Iron Pigs are hot and in first place in the AAA International League which is the best league in the minors....

CC came in during the 9th last night to bail the Iron Pigs out of trouble vs. Louisville but they lost 8-7....Chance's scoreless 1/3 of an inning drops his ERA to 3.99 at the AAA level.... :ugeek:

Chance got bombed last night vs. Louisville...he came on in relief for 3 innings and gave up 6 runs on 6 hits...his ERA balloons to 5.29.....the Iron Pigs actually came back and won 8-7 but this was not a good night for our boy Chappy....  :n:
